31st of January: Forza Horizon 4.

Got all houses, beauty spots, final races and stories so I'm classing it as "finished".

29th of February: What Remains of Edith Finch.

A journal.

14th of April: Last Day of June.

I should have waited to finish this on the last day of June, what a massive oversight!

18th of April: Forza Horizon 4 Lego Speed Champions.

But seems like there's a champions race or something, so maybe it's not finished?

14th of May: Ghostrunner Demo.

Yeah I'm counting it! Look out for RE3 Demo, coming to a meagre list near you soon!

18th of May: Journey.

Much better second time around.

20th of May: Sky: Children of Light.

Wardrobe complete, and just in time after this awful update!

22nd of May: Resident Evil 3 demo.

I'm super hyped. To play Vampyr or RE2make.

22nd of May: Art of Rally Demo.

Won rallies, therefore complete?

26th of May: Final Fantasy VII Demo.

I'm not sure I understand the walking banter.

12th of June: A Plague Tale: Innocence.

But when did I finish Joruney???

18th of June: ACA NEOGEO Metal Slug X.

Dope. Just don't precede it with Gunstar Heroes!

22nd of June: Sludge Life.

Good ending.

23rd of June: Sludge Life.

Bad ending.

23rd of June: Sludge Life.

Weird ending.

23rd of june: Crypt Creeper.

Alright.

24th of June: Sludge Life.

100% boi!

28th of June: Minecraft Dungeons

Much better than i expected. The last level, at least, is legit hectic.

29th of June: Backbone.

Alright.

15th of July: Metro Exodus.

End of the trilogy?

21st of July: Beat Cop.

Fled to Mexico!

The Two Colonels.

Forgot to add it, so not sure of precise date of completion.

29th of July: Project Warlock.

He's coming for us next. Sad

30th of July: Sam's Story.

The good ending is kinda the bad ending.

8th of August: Cataclysm 3D.

Better than i expected.

10th of August: Metro Last Light Redux DLC.

Not as good as Exodus DLC, but some pretty solid stuff.

14th of August: Five Nights at Freddies.

Not sure I'd call it scary, but it certainly is very traumitising.

16th of August: Stone House Orphanage.

So happy the PSX aesthetic is a thing now.

26th of August: Perfect Vermin.

Better than The Stanley Parable, at least.

26th of August: Demontower.

One of the best games in a game ever.

10th of September: Vampyr.

Longer than I expected.

12th of September: Night in the Woods.

Hella dope.

12th of September: The Longest Night.

Shorter than I expected.

24th of September: Halo 3.

So good.

26th of September: Pikmin 3.

Fuck that gold dickhead.

2nd of October: Kentucky Route Zero.

Surprisingly good.

7th of October: Tell me Why.

[Insert local suicide hotline here.]

15th of October: Kathy Rain.

Props for the abortion subplot lol.

25th of October: Whispers of a Machine.

Sssh!

2xx of october: One Night Stand.

Fittingly, I can't remember exactly when I played it!

29th of October: The Red String Club.

Interesting, if awkward.

8th of November: Journey to the Savage Planet.

Kawaii.

10th of November: Gods Will Be Watching.

Brilliant.

23rd of November: Days of the Tentacle.

Is that what it's called?

23rd of November: Space Channel Five Funky Something.

First VR game finished!

3rd of December: Superhot VR.

Time to play the PC version for comparison!

4th of December: Superhot.

Neck and neck with the VR version. Leaning towards the VR version, though.

5th of December: Little Miss Fortune.

The bad ending is good, the good ending is bad.

19th of December: Observation.

What a pleasant surprise.

21st of December: Superhot Mind Control Delete.

More like Superot.

28th of December: Coffee Talk

Reminds me of my Indonesian friends on Sky.

30th of December: Buddytale.

Like That Dragon, Cancer, but good. Also better than Undertale.

31st of December: Where is 2021?

Cute, and strangely comforting.

All five games will go here.

1. Spyro: Year of the Dragon [PS4]1st of January to 17th of January

Took long enough. Since 2012 I've started a game on the 1st of January and somehow Spyro 3 is the one that's taken the longest to finish. Surprisingly, it's my least favourite in the series. 7/10

2. Resident Evil 4 [PS3]5th of April to 17th of April

It's about time they got rid of those esoteric puzzles. 8/10

3. P.T. (PS4)23rd of June to 24th of June

Great first half but I can't help but feel like the obscurity of the second half let it down. 8/10

4. Bloodborne [PS4]24th of June (effectively) to 9th of July

My favourite 'Soulsborne' game. Got the DLC done too. 9/10

5. Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune (PS4)(29th of June) 10th of July to 13th of July

Fun times but VIOLENT. 8/10

6. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves [PS4]14th of July to 18th of July

An improvement over the first game in most areas. 8/10

7. Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception [PS4] - 20th of July to 6th of September

Less fun than 2. 45.3/79.18

8. Digimon World: Next Order [PS4] 2nd of October to 14th of November

Good to get back into Digimon even if the game isn't the best. 7/10

9. Final Fantasy VIII [PS4]15th of November to 10th of December

My old favourite game... It gets a bit weird but I can still at least call it one of my favourites. 9/10

10. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater [PS1] 11th of December to 13th of December

Impressive for the time but definitely dated now. 7/10

11. Need for Speed Rivals [PS4] 11th of December to 26th of December

Nothing wrong with the gameplay but why can't I pause? 7/10

12. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 [PS1] 14th of December to the 26th of December or later

An improvement over the first game in every way. 8/10

2020, the year everybody will finally finish less games than I do! My time to shine is here!

  1. Luigi's Mansion 3 - Switch - date - enjoyable game, really felt good to be hunting ghosts again, seeing as I skipped 2.  The hotel concept didn't really grow on me, but otherwise a very enjoyable, beautiful game.  8/10
  2. Mario Tennis Aces - Switch - date - decent installment with a fun, albeit short, story mode.  All the special shots can be a bit much, but luckily you can turn them off in online play.  7/10
  3. Seasons after Fall - Xbone - 28/03 - beautifull 2D platformer with no combat.  The hook is that you alter your surroundings by changing the seasons, but this alters little else than the look and what plaftorms are raised or lowered.  6/10
  4. Mario Rabbids, Donkey Kong DLC - Switch - 04/04 - better than the main game because the Rabbids grate less with the DK universe than that of Mario.  Also awesome how Rabbid Kong is made into some noble warrior by the end.  That alone is funnier than everything in the first game.  7/10 (main game scored 6/10 in 201Cool
  5. The Legend of Zelda: a Link to the Past - SNES via Switch - 11/04 - a timeless masterpiece.  10/10
  6. Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice - Xbone - 26/04 - A beautiful game that tries to convey what it must be like to live with a mental illness, but suffers from a lot of those elements already being well established in videogames.  A unique experience, even if the gameplay can't keep your attention for the whole length of the game.  8/10
  7. Wargroove - Xbone - 01/06 - Basically midieval Advance Wars.  Mostly enjoyable, but not quite as good as the original.  7/10
  8. the Touryst - Xbone - 15/08 - It's a bite sized adventure, with bite sized challenges, that seemed to take longer than I'd expect it to be, yet also kind of just stops when things really get kicking.  5/10
  9. Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition - 18/08 - amazing RPG, amazing world. Still holds up great today.  10/10
  10. The Creature in the Well - 29/08 - a top down action puzzler in which combat and puzzle solving are one; a mixture of pinball and those Ganon fights in Zelda where you hit a ball of energy back and forth.  A unique and enjoyable experience, let down by a harsh difficulty spike 2/3's in and a barebones story.  7/10
  11. Hollow Knight - Xbone - somewhere in october - a metroidvania with a great atmosphere and nice hand drawn artstyle.  Had some great fun and might very well return to attempt the different endings.  8/10
  12. Borderlands - PC - somewhere in october - very similar to BL2, but oh so brown and bland.  5/10
  13. Night in the Woods - Xbone - 24/11 - more a slightly interactive story than an actual game.  Best thing about it was the inclusion of a triple jump.  The moment to moment writing was entertaining too.  3/10

This is a game Leo and others have told me to play many times. There it was in the switch SNES app so I figured why not. WOW what a game. I would have eaten this up back in the day and its still great today. A cool action adventure game with the ability to change into different forms to find new paths in levels that you arrive at through a world map. Its got good action, great exploration, tons of secrets. Just a great game all around, play it!   Overall Score: 8.2

The second episode of this VR experience introduces force powers into the mix. Now you can grab, pull and push objects and enemies plus throw your lightsaber and call it back. Its major upgrade as now you truly feel like a Jedi. The story is super short, more so than the first. It has one neat setpiece against a giant monster but its super simple. The real star is the dojo which is much improved over the first as now you have all these abilities. Force grabbing a droid, launching it into another while no look flinging your lightsaber at another on your side is just an example of the awesome you can do. It feels like an arcade game but a fun one. Also its $10 so whatever. For the price very much worth it. Will try episode 3 next.  Overall Score: 7

Image result for vader immortal episode 3

The grand finale, and finally this one is a great story mode from start to finish for its small 40 minute run time. You have all your powers and you go to invade Vader's temple. Fight loads of stormtroopers, an AT-ST, lead an army and have a final dual with Vader himself. It's still all rather basic theme park ride style gameplay but the production values are great. The dojo once again is a blast with new elements like taking blasters and thermal detonators from enemies.  All together it makes for a neat VR experience and the dojos allow the best Jedi VR experience around. Overall Score: 7.3

Image result for doom 93

Still the GOAT FPS, so much fun to play.

Image result for outer wilds

Incredibly engrossing game that is about as pure an exploration game as they come. The game begins and you talk to a few people, no prompts or instructions. All the information you need comes from the game world, learning as you go. Then you hop in your spaceship and you are off, an entire solar system to explore, no load times, no tricks, about 5 planets to explore and more out in space. Every planet is so unique with some really crazy effects going on like one water planet with giagantic tornandos that launch the islands into space. Two planets that syphon sand from one another, planets that fall apart as you explore, these crazy level altering events are happening on a timer... right you have 22 minutes to save the universe or everyone dies. Its groundhog day in space, after 22 min you wake up at the start and go again. Its a masterpiece of game design in that it lets the player approach the ENTIRE game in any order, the mystery ready to be solved immediately all you have to do is figure it out step by step as a true explorere world. That sense of discovery is hard to come by.

A few issues may anger some players, the timer being one. Theer are events that only occur at certain times so you will have to wait for that to happen as there is a fast foward but its so damn slow its almost pointless. There will be parts where you will feel stuck, lost, don't know what to do and that is always frustrating. But the feeling of a breakthrough is so good it makes those moments worth it. Don't sit on this game, its brilliant.  Overall Score: 9.2

Image result for supraland

Read my review, a 9.2 as well.

Image result for sigil doom

John Romero's new Doom WAD is is version of a new episode after Thy Flesh Consumed. Its 9 new Doom levels that HATE YOU. There are some good new ideas like a switch that you have to shoot to activate something in the level. So of course Romero hides them in the most unsuspecting places. For some reason a lot of the level design has you walking across tiny ledges as hordes shoot at you. Also entire levels are in the dark, wtf I cant see and I have to manuever tiny walkways. It's still Doom so its a blast and a few levels really are well done but the frustrating stuff is just to much. Taking away the fact that the base game is Doom, looking at this review only as a critiuque on the map design I give this a 5.5.

Image result for slay the spire

I have finished the game with the four playable characters but there is still a lot of challenges and stuff to unlock so I am not exactly finished playing this. So I wont score this yet but it is a high 8, it is so addicting and fun. This is a rogue like card game, no need to build decks and plan ahead, it all comes at you randomly so you have to strategize on the fly. The card sets are very unique creating different styles of play across each character. Play this game, its on gamepass!

Image result for dreams logo ps4

I have had this in early access for a long time but got overwhelmed and came back at the official release. Finally the MM "campaign" was released and it was BRILLIANT. Its more of an interactive movie in terms of length, with wildly different gameplay styles that all fit perfectly into a moving story that would be right at home as pixar movie. It is a testament to what could be done with this game engine, the skies are the limit. I easily lose hours just exploring different creations and messing around decorating my home, forget even trying to make a level. This is so ambitious that I feel it loses a lot of the charm and simplisity that made LBP so easy to get into. It is still early on, I am not as hooked as I was with LBP and the main story while great isnt exactly a full game. Dreams is more like youtube for games. It could be one of the most incredible games ever made but that is to be seen for many years to come.

Image result for resident evil 3 ps1

Getting ready for the remake. Not my favorite RE game but still great. These games are so much fun and this one in particular is beating my ass because Nemesis is an ASSHOLE. Seriously fuck him. Its my fault cause I am actually fighting him rather than running, still douchebag! Great game.

Image result for Sonic mania

Absolute masterpiece of a Sonic game. In every way it is the best Sonic game ever made, it just came out almost 30 years too late. This game is perfect for any Genesis sonic fans. I just did the plus version which I never got around too, its cool as it lets you switch characters on the fly as you play. This is a love letter to all sonic fans. Its a deep game, its fast, its inventive. Its like Sonic 2 crossed with Sonic 3, its brilliant. Overall Score: 9.3

Image result for Resident Evil 2

My review is on the site. One of the best games ever made.

Image result for luigis mansion 3

I wont do a full review, its similar to part 2, read that review for a lot of the same thoughts. This version is longer, deeper ands better mechanics. The goo luigi adds a nice layer to puzzles and even combat. Each floor being a totally different theme allows for great variety in locations, I loved that. This game is so charming, everything is interactive, its a joy to simply explore and try to find all gems. Boss battles are a little hit and miss but overall good. I had a blast plaaying this, its nothing groundbreaking but another great Nintendo game. Overall Score: 8.5

Image result for half life 2

Still a masterpiece, I cannot believe how well this game holds up. It is just NON STOP awesome, new setpiece after new setpiece. Creative enemy encounters in every new area. The gravity gun remains one of the best gameplay mechanics around. If HL Alyx is half as good as this game we are in for the best VR game ever by a mile.

Image result for half life 2 episode 2

I didnt replay episode 1 cause it was boring, but episode 2 is incredible, every bit as good as HL2 proper. I love all the defense moments. The house raid is one of the best shootouts in the series. There is sucha  great ebb and flow to the  combat scenarios in this smaller but packed game. And that cliffhanger, how can you do that to us! I hope Alyx goes into the present timeline.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps - Wikipedia

A beautiful sequel to one of the better metroidvanias out there. The first ori was heavily tilted toward the platforming side of the metroidvania, dealing with a cool launching system as youu used enemies to propel you around. This game still has that mechanic but its taken a backseat to the overhaul of combat. Basiclally this game takes Ori 1 and adds a load of elements from Hollow Knight, shamelessly I might add. Combat is done with a sort of etherial sword and you gain all kinds of new combat abilities. The game world is about twice as large with many new gameplay mechanics to learn and use. Its very well paced, platforming segments are all very well done and the combat is actually fun to play now. I do wish the game would be a little harder, not so much in the combat which is still a far cry from matcing hollow knight but from the platforming which is all pretty simple. There are no real challenge areas for expert players like in Guacamelee or Hollow Knight. So what you get here is one of the most relaxing metroidvanias, a ton of fun with llttle to no frustration.  Overall Score: 8.8;

Q.U.B.E.: Director's Cut on GOG.com

A Portal style puzzle game that lacks all the charm of Portal. In this game you manipulate cubes to solve puzzles room by room. The puzzles are ok, nothing as inventive or interesting as Portal. It lasts like 3 hours long, it has some clever ideas by the end.  Overall Score: 6.2

Amazon.com: Final Fantasy CGC Huge Poster VII Characters HD Remake ...

Still an all time masterepiece. What a story, it just keep ramping up with amazing moments. I love all the weirdness and mini games, there is a lot to do here. I cant wait for them to remake the entire thing as the best is yet to come. Overall Score: 9.7

Guacamelee! 2 - Wikipedia

It has all the fun gameplay of the first with a few new additions that arent game changing. Feels like a safe sequel. Its still a blast, its still very platforming focused but the lack of good exploration hurts its potential. Also they hid the challenge trails behind a paywall, that was my favorite part of the first. Kind of disappointing as a sequel, but still pretty damn great. Overall score: 7.9

Blood & Truth | Launch Gameplay Trailer | PS VR - YouTube

A big first party PSVR game that is very impressive from a production standpoint. It has great action sequences, it plays out like a wild episode of 24 with loads of shootouts and chases constantly all in VR. The gameplay allows you to move around cover with the push of a button, you can duck and pop out on your own. Guns are fun to wield, reloading is very simple, its more flashy than realistic. It's all great until the ac tual controls, in this case two move controllers which are not accuarte enough. Many times my gun would lose trackig and aim in crazy directions. Any two handed weapon is a disaster to use. This game is held back by the tech, if it was on rift it probably would be a solid 8, but like this its only... Overall Score: 6.8

Buy Rez Infinite from the Humble Store and save 50%

Never played this before so in VR was the first time I played it. Its really cool in VR, giant environments fill the screen, huge bosses tower over you. But then there is the gameplay or lack thereof. This is simplistic Panzer Dragoon, you cant rotate the camera so the game focuses enemies in front of you. All you do is lock on and release, thats it. Oh you get a super attack after a while. The only powerups you get increase your armor or build that power attack, thats it. Its the same every level, of which there are only five. The game is over in like an hour. There are neat boss battles but the levels leading up to them feel like a waste of time. There are a bunch of score or time modes here but I have no desire to play it. Its cool looking, good music, shallow gameplay. Overall Score: 5.0

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages - Wikipedia

I started this replay like a year ago and stopped at the final dungeon. So I just did the final dungeon to complete it. I love this game, I do like Ages more but Seasons is still a lot of fun. The only issues with both of these is the overworld design can get a bit too messy, lots of one way paths and blocks in your way. It just never feels as free form. Everything else is golden.

Panzer Dragoon Sega Saturn Great Condition Fast Shipping | Etsy

Such a great shooter, the 360 combat was so unique and interesting. The music so memorable. My first saturn game and one I still love.

Panzer Dragoon II Zwei - Wikipedia

An improved sequel with multiple paths and the ability to grow your dragoon different ways it lead to a more replayable game. I played this so many times and its just brilliant.

Yooka-Laylee on Steam

Yooka laylee doesn’t hide what it’s trying to be, a clear hinge to Banjo Kazooie and the old rare style 3D platformer. These games were more about exploring and solving little puzzles than straight platforming so it never captured me like the Mario games did which were far far more platform centric. So if you lived Banjo this is a giant love letter to that, but I didn’t love banjo so this was mostly a slog.

It’s only five worlds long plus a hub world. Each world starts off small and you can expand it so basically you do the worlds twice. There is good variety in those five worlds so I did enjoy most of the game. There are plenty of characters to talk to, cool varied worlds to explore. I liked the ability to change your character into some new vehicle in each world. Some bosses were fun, some were a pain in the ass for all the wrong reasons like the final boss which is just a mess.

It’s a giant collectathon and I like collecting stuff. When it was focused on platforming, using your skills to get around obstacles and solving puzzles it’s great. And the majority of the game is that, really neat situations that make you think and use skills. But there are a lot of just find this anywhere kind of missions so you wander around. Everything around the game feels old fashion , the camera hates you, things feel low budget because it is. It doesn’t have the level of polish Banjo did. The controls aren’t as tight, this comes into play on some horrible mini games like the mine cart... wtf I want to fire the people that made that horrible controlling garbage.

I finished it so it’s not bad it’s just not great in anyway. I get it’s trying to be old school and it’s low budget but that’s why you go old school with a low budget you should be able to mimic older games just fine, even improve on them today even with a small budget. But somehow this is just more sloppy and slightly worse than what came before. Great homage, slightly above average platformer.

Score: 6.3

Halo 5: Guardians | Games | Halo - Official Site

What the hell happened to this series. The second I started playing this game I had a strong reaction to the feel of the guns, this was not the halo I knew. Bungie have always been masters of gunplay, their games feel so tight and fun to shoot, destiny continued right where Halo left off. Now I don’t remember 4 that much but this game felt so off compared to what I expect from this series. I felt I could have been playing any random FPS, and that’s the whole campaign... it’s just any FPS.

This is a mostly linear game with an ebb and flow of shooting grunts in a small area and every once in a while getting in a vehicle. There is way more on foot sections and they don’t really evolve at all. After the first two hours you basically have seen everything the game has to offer. Sure there are big vehicle sections but those have been done in past games so much better. This game has the promethians introduced in halo 4 mixed with classic covenant enemies, they have different strategies to fight but it’s not all that interesting to fight these hordes.

One really strange aspect is that this game always has four squad teammates, if you are playing solo they are run by AI and they will come over to you to heal you if you are downed and you can do the same for them. This means the whole shield and health system is taken a back seat cause now you get knocked down and have to hope a teammate is near by. No health pickups at all. That feeling of being the lone badass is gone. It feels like every crap coop shooter from the PS3 era.

This game has two protagonists, cause they know you don’t actually want to play as Master Chief, naw random nobodies are better. I wish the story was any good but it’s just a race against a Cortana that has turned evil and unleashed giant robot monsters on the galaxy, the usual chase and shooting ensues. Oh and the game literally just stops after like 6-7 hours, it’s worse than a to be continued, it just ends. There are some decent hype moments, with the awesome theme song playing which service to heighten the action. I wish the level design was good in any way but it’s just basic go forward and in traditional halo fashion lots of the same looking locations over and over.

It’s still a competent shooter with weapon variety, a new power dash and slam move. Driving the classic vehicles is always great. I am sure it’s more fun in coop and when you turn on arcade mode, I can see this being a far better score attack game than a narrative campaign. I also did not touch the versus modes so I am not reviewing that. This is simply a review of the single player campaign and I found it to just be average at best. This series deserves so much better.

Streets of Rage 4 for Nintendo Switch - Nintendo Game Details

Perfected the formula, this is maybe the best beat em up ever . Takes everything that made SoR so great, added some new moves that add an entire new layer of strategy to the mix and gives you great levels, bosses and music. I wish I delved deeper, I only beat the campaign once which was longer than the average SoR game. An excellent throwback. Overall Score: 8.7

Super Mario 64 - IGN

Still a masterpiece

The Touryst (2019) box cover art - MobyGames

A charming cute indie game that is light in puzzles and likes to dabble in game history with beat references and cool mini games. For the most part it's a top down puzzle game, though these puzzles never really evolve and are simplistic. It's like a detective game where you travel from island to island asking people where to find whatever quest item or person you are on and ultimately open the different tombs. The best part are the various mini games that populate the world from playing in game arcade games mimicking the sega games of the past, some surfing mini game, some spelunking and more. It keeps the gameplay fresh for the 6 or so hours it takes to complete. I also found the art style to be gorgeous and the writing to be charming and funny. It's not deep, this isn't some instant classic but it's a fun game.

Overall Score 6.8

Carrion' (2020) – An absorbing blood-curdling pixellated horror  role-reversal – Pulp Critic

This small metroidvania flips the script and makes you the monster as you slime your way through a base to escape capture by eating or possessing human workers. The concept is cool and it works with some neat powers that allow for the metroid aspect of the formula to function as you find new ways to access new areas. It just never feels that ambitious, it's a smaller world that's hard to make sense of how it all connects. The game never really asks you to go back to previous locations so it feels mostly linear. It's over pretty fast with no real standout moments, the good part is that the controls are fast and fluid and there are some good puzzles in it.

Overall score: 6.0

Hades (2020) Nintendo Switch box cover art - MobyGames

This rogue like from supergiant games is one of the best rogue like games I have played. Most of the time I get bored of the repetition but the way they carved the story into the rogue like elements really makes me want to keep exploring and access more and more abilities and weapons. The story is you are the son of Hades and you want out, so you fight your way to the surface of earth while all the gods of Olympus aid you in various ways. The cool thing is the story continues with each attempt, the huge cast of NPCs will comment on how your attempt went, they will offer advice, and collectibles you earn in your run upgrades many aspects of your game back at Hades home base.

The combat is really fast and fluid, it's their usual top down gameplay. This feels like Diablo on speed, when you are fully powered there can be so many effects and powers on screen at once, it becomes a joy to play. The possibilities of very different builds based on the RNG is stunning, I found myself creating all kinds of new strategies, some worked great and got me very far eventually escaping (which opens a massive post game) and some failed miserably much to the delight of my father Hades. I really wish there was more to the game though, it's just four simple levels, about 5 bosses you fight over and over, enemies are rather basic. It's a testament to all the surrounding elements that push the gameplay forward to make a game that's just four small levels feel this fun to replay.

Overall Score - 8.7

Super Mario Galaxy (2015) Wii U box cover art - MobyGames

still basically perfect.

Astro's Playroom announced for PS5 - Gematsu

this is the pack in game for the PS5 which serves as a showcase for the fantastic dual sense controller. There is not some incredibly deep platformer here, you get four well designed worlds that last like 30 minutes each and they serve as a way to showcase all the controller can do. Haptics bring the game to life in impressive ways as you can feel the difference in the ground from sand to water, wind is felt following inside your controller, every bump of a rocky road is felt, and most impressive when it rains you feel the drops. The adaptive triggers have a bunch of tension on them which makes it feel like a true trigger; you feel the recoil on a gun for instance, the tension of a rope of an arrow and so on. It allows for precise grabbing as you can go with a light touch in a level where you are in a monkey suit and rock climbing. There are a ton of mini games that make use of all the controller features like the touch pad, the six axis, the mic and so on.

What a LOVE about Astro bot is concept of what the game is, basically you are inside a new PS5 and every level is a different part of the consoles construction. One level is the GPU, the snow level is the cooling system, a speed highway is the SSD level, each with a totally different asthmatic and fantastic song about the part. Throughout these levels you will see Astro bots recreating scenes from nearly every famous PS title, from the PS1 days to the present every game that had a hand in making the PS brand the best in gaming is represented, part of the fun was figuring out each one. The collectibles are incredibly detailed models of every PS console and accessory every made, from the PS1 to something as obscure as some GPS thing for the PSP, every product is included and most of the models have some form of interactivity. It all gets displayed in this museum of PlayStation that covers the entire history, this is a love letter to everything PS and the biggest nostalgia trip you can ever have. Nintendo is usually the king of that kind of Disney like creativity and presentation, well Sony has matched them.

In the end though this is still not a very deep game. The VR title is magnitudes better than this, basically this makes me want a proper Astro Bot sequel VR or not. This should be the PS mascot, please make more! Overall Score: 7.6

Online multiplayer comes to Sackboy: A Big Adventure later this year –  PlayStation.Blog

Very cute fun platformer that is lengthy has good variety and excellent music. Controls are improved from LBP but never reaches the fluidity of the best in the genre. I think the LBP campaign still had more originality and spirit, because this is not MM it does not have the same magic. Like LBP3 it feels like a lesser version. Still a quality platformer that any PS5 owner would be happy to have. Overall Score: 7.7

Yeah Demon’s Crest is an excellent game for sure. I impulse bought it on the SNES when it first came out. Didn’t know anything about the game but it was by Capcom, whom I loved, and the box looked cool.

I procrastinated on doing the main questline. I did almost every sidequest before I beat the game.

It took me 69 hours to do almost all the side quests and beat the main story and get every hidden collectable.

I finished Death Stranding.  It had a great start, great middle, but that last third...hmm.  It was about ten to fifteen hours too long with way too much exposition at the end.  Of course, Kojima settles for bat shit crazy story with tons of twists and turns rather than keeping the pacing and story tight.  The more I played it, the less I liked it.  However, it had solid gameplay and moments of genius, just maybe not enough for a forty to fifty hour game.  I'd probably give it a 8.5.

Finished Minit on my tablet. Certainly an interesting idea, though I'm not sure really is a good game. Too many of the challenging moments from the game come from the 4-bit monochrome blocking graphics, where you repeatedly walk by an item you need because you don't recognize it as an item at all.

01. The Outer Worlds (PS4) -- Quite close to being a 'Perfect' game! Beginning to end, awesome!

02. Luigi's Mansion 3 (Switch) -- I love sucking things... up with my Poltergust!

03. Timespinner (PS4) -- They should have just called it ChronoSymphony, cause it really is Chrono Trigger meets Symphony of the Night!

04. Chasm (PS4) -- Played this game on Hard and found the challenge to be perfect! Played TimeSpinner on Normal and found it to be a push-over; didn't want to make the same mistake twice! Great blend of Metroid-Vania with randomly generated worlds with Dark Souls-like patience and pattern recognition for the fights, big and small. Highly recommended!

05. Final Fantasy Adventure --

06. Secret of Mana --

07. Trials of Mana -- 25 years later, the game I dreamed about playing on Super Nintendo is now done on Switch!

08. Demon's Crest -- This series needs a new game. Now!

09. Animal Crossing: New Horizons -- The credits rolled a while ago, but I never thought to add it!

10. Journey to the Savage Planet -- Join Samus Aran as she explores planet ARY-26... Just kidding!

11. The Last of Us 2 -- Gut-wrenchig, heart-wrenching, masterfully told.

12. Kingdom Hearts 3 -- Played it really only cause my bf bought it for me as a gift. Fun enough to play, but the story is utter nonsense. The only thing that would make me care about a KH4 is a supposed connection to the World Ends with You. Other than that I see no need.

13. Ghost of Tsushima
