I like the idea that we are going to make controllers out of wood.

This is my favourite thread in the world.  It's better than all those "heart-warming" news items about boy is too poor to have a switch so creates one out of egg-carton...

This thread is definitely on its way to becoming epic.  I definitely admire GG’s persistence though I scratch my head over it.

Pizza box controllers are nice, but they still pale in comparison to the Michael McDonald joystick.

He is obviously Ronald McDonalds brother. At least that's what a fool believes.

You bitches don't know who Michael McDonald is? Uggghhhhh that's disappointing. Develop some taste in music!  Well at least Vader understands.

LOL

I emailed the company that made it and told them what I was trying to do. They replied back and offered me a 30% refund for the item not fufilling my desired use of it. I don't think they read my message correctly.

I went to the local woodmill and asked for a custom switch sized piece of wood to be cut so I could use some joycon brackets and screw them in. I was told by the manager that their saw was broken and that they are waiting for a custom part from Italy to arrive in a week. I was given a card and told to call back in a week.

So after being fobbed off by the local woodmill twice I went to a store to buy my own plank of wood to cut. Problem was that it was about 3mm too thick. I can cut the length and height fine. But how to plane down a flat surface 3 mm without an electric sander.... Its too much. So Xenoblade 2, arrived and I realised switch boxes are the same size as switch. So I'm thinking of just using one in my grip instead.

Crap. Switch box failed. It's too high.

Looks like custom wood is the way to go.
