Agreed...that's why when I first played GOW3 (after replaying GOW1 in the HD collection) I was totally unimpressed after 2 hours and stopped. Finally went back to it after awhile and finished it, and yes it gets much better (but I still think I've had my fill of the series).

Glad I was not the only one. The Metacritic on GoW3 was ridiculous -- like 92 or something, and I found it to be a completely soul less, paint-by-numbers affair. It was not until the Chain of Balance level (superman flying) that things started to pick up.  I'm skipping the next one for sure.

I appreciate the gravity of the above declaration.  I have all 4 Yakuzas, finished none.  Played a good deal of the first one though.  I must have got close to finishing it I think

Finished Duke Nukem Forever. It wasn't that bad of a game. It certainly looks and plays much like the older FPS games. It's rude, crude, and sometimes funny. There's quite a bit of stuff poked fun at in this game even a piece making fun of the Christian Bale rant. Not a very intense game as there's a number of places where you don't fight a whole lot of enemies. FPS games have come a very long way since this game first began development and DNF's age really shows. Still this was an enjoyable game for the $10 I paid for it. 6.5 out of 10.

I watched some vids on youtube of people playing the game, and I was surprised that it really didn't seem too bad. Been considering checking it out.

I just finished Syndicate, it was awesome and the co-op modes are amazing as well. It's definetely worth a purchase.
