Mafia 2 was a really cool game, I enjoyed that one.
Glad you're enjoying Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, I totally loved that game and can't wait to get the dlc for it.Castlevania is GoW levels of awesome. I fought a huge 10 story tall statue, then armored black knight followed by a building sized golem and finally a giant ass bird that tried to kill me with her eggs. What an awesome stretch of levels. I am gaining new powers constantly which expand the combat system regularly.
I am now headed toward the Vampire Castle... ugh shouldnt that be for the end... I guess it isnt a magic castle yet since no one mentioned it reappearing. I still have no clue what this game has to do with Castlevania outside of Belmont and some familiar enemies. I still dont know how I feel about it, it is a Castlevania game by name but when I envision a CV game for consoles I have a very different image in my head, its more like the PS2 CV games but not sucky. In the end its about the game and I can't complain cause this game is right up there with the best action games this gen. I have played for about 8-9 hours and I am just halfway through, most action games would be ending right now.

Oh thank god. Now it better be Bloody Tears or I will shed some bloody tears. See what I did there, I am so clever.
Dont tell me! I want it to be a surprise.
I'm not saying that is the song... or not... just thought you would appreciate it!
The castle is done. Now normally this would mean the end of a Castlevania game but yeah this game is very different. The castle was amazing though. It was a great mix of clever puzzles, setpieces, mini games and action moments. Action took a backseat really, it was a totally change of pace from the earlier levels and I loved it for that.
Did it feel like I was in Dracula's castle, not really. Yeah there is a clock tower but its a really slow peaceful level, with no medusa heads and really relaxing music as you slowly jump around very slow gears. Not what you normally get from a clock tower. There was Orloc's chamber but Orloc was just a vampire not a cool green monster dude. They teased Frankenstein so much and no monster, boooo. Really, they couldn't include the monster and his stupid flea man friend, speaking of which this game needs flea men. And those skeleton dragon things.
The way the game incorported puzzles and such into the levels really made me wish they went with an open world kind of map for the castle. I feel the game would be better if you could explore the castle on your own and slowly open up the different areas but instead they kept the GoW structure. So again this is an great GoW like game, with CV names and locations. Its so huge, I still have a third to go and I have put in at least 14 hours.
OMG at Castlevania, these last few levels are crazy. Loads of puzzles, loads of platforming, epic crazy stuff. I am at Death, which isn't a normal Death fight at all... still cool as hell though. I LOVE LOVE the way the game is designed in terms of action, puzzles, platformers, it makes me forgive the problems with the combat.
WHAT IN THE HOLY FUCK DID I JUST WATCH?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?
Kojima (Im aware he didnt write it but its pure Kojima) outdid himself, even Solid Snake would just say "fuck this is too much.
I am lost, what does any of this have to do with Castlevania?
The game was cool, last two bosses sucked sadly.
That's a ptiy. It's usually the last boss that sucks with the second last being awesome.

Then you are done? We'll discuss when I get home in the afternoon around 4PM!
I must been the only person on earth who did not like the game. I quit about 5 hours into it. I did not like a single thing about it.

Plenty of people did not like it.
The DLC is awesome but really short. When I got it it showed two new chapters, so I assumed I get to play both. NOOOO you only get one chapter and it says to be continued at the end. I paid $10 for 2 hours of content and now they will make me pay another $10 later, ARRRGGGH.
Anyway its awesome, some of the very best levels and puzzles. The combat sucks, only like three basic enemies, but the puzzles and platforming, damn its taken to a whole new level. Plus you get to play as Laura a few times and she has new moves and stuff. If you were a fan of the puzzles and platforming this DLC is for you. There is very little combat with no bosses so I am warning you. The story is interesting, it ends at a major moment for Gabriel.
Yeah. So. Now that you finished it. That certain battle against "someone" down in "somewhere..." You know the one, where it quickly flashes red and blue and there's all sorts of stuff going on all over the screen?
THAT'S the battle I fought the weekend after my head injury, just a few short days after the doctor told me to not play any games or do anything that would be too much stimulation for a week to ten days after.
I couldn't believe my eyes as I was fighting. I was sure I was going to have a seizure. I was totally shocked after I beat the game, and utterly shocked I wasn't convulsing on the floor after it!
That's how I felt.
What puzzled me was that a lot reviews pointed out the shortcomings of the campaign in the text but didn't reflect this in the final score.
