Yeah. So. Now that you finished it. That certain battle against "someone" down in "somewhere..." You know the one, where it quickly flashes red and blue and there's all sorts of stuff going on all over the screen?

THAT'S the battle I fought the weekend after my head injury, just a few short days after the doctor told me to not play any games or do anything that would be too much stimulation for a week to ten days after.

I couldn't believe my eyes as I was fighting. I was sure I was going to have a seizure. I was totally shocked after I beat the game, and utterly shocked I wasn't convulsing on the floor after it!

The ending probably makes more sense if you have a seizure. Nyaa

Well the fact that it has nothing to do with Castlevania for one. Also dead people showing up out of nowhere.

I really don't get how you couldn't understand LoS Vader, I mean it wasn't all that convoluted and while it was supposed to be a reboot of the franchise there was still quite a number of Castlevania stuff in it so saying that it has nothing to do with Castlevania doesn't make a lot of sense either.

You saw the Slogra though, right? That was cool!

SPOILERS ABOUND! CAUTION!

Gabriel at once became the greatest hero on earth, but then released his soul to the heavens to break the spell Zobek cast; like the Lords of Shadow before him, he left his body behind and became Earth's greatest villian, Dracul, Master of Death. I know the game's not supposed to be cannon, but there's a few things they do near the end that seems to suggest they kinda started to want to make them fit together somewhat.

There was something about an eclipse in the GBA/DS games that happened when Dracula came to power. There seemed to be a reference to that in there.

Dracula loses his power in the Great 1999 Battle. I think that was what was going on in the ending scenes.

Archie believes Zobek fills the role of Shaft in this series. He seems to want to help Gabriel to me though, not resurrect Dracula, as the old stories go.

I'm thinking Zobek in the end was his good half...? Don't know. Kojima HAD TO have something to do with that ending! It makes about as much sense as most of his games do!!

If the DLC does anything to contradict my theories, I have NO IDEA as I haven't played it yet!

SPOILERSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Yes see the Slogra was cool, I thought that would be the castle and just a few years later. The modern day thing is a terrible idea and so is making Dracula a good guy, ya lets go fight Satan! Dracula is the big bad in Castlevania, there is none worse, this betrays that. Zobek died, Satan killed him, once the one dies the other dies too but yet there he is at the end for no reason.

A sequel after that ending is out of the question cause it would be terrible. Telling the story of anything inbetween is a waste of time cause we know Dracula is alive and bored in modern day times and he doesn't seem very dangerous. And the castle is pointless cause clearly Dracula doesn't need it.

It was a great story about a man of god fighting satan in a quest of redemption and love ruined by a terrible epilogue, much how MGS4s epilogue almost ruined a fantastic story up till that point.

SPOOOOOIIIILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEERRRRRRRRRR

Its basically the story of how he becomes Dracula and you learn about the castle. Still has nothing to do with Castlevania.

Gabriel does not leave his body behind, he is not a Lord of Shadow.

Never happening, poor Iga is homeless by now. Nyaa

Honestly I hope they give him back the series. This game was excellent but its not Castlevania. I want real Castlevania even if its just 2D.

See you're thinking of this game as being a Castlevania sequel when it's not, it's a reboot so all of this "should be this way or that way" thinking doesn't really apply. This is a game meant to "restart" the franchise with a new beginning and lore but it still has a lot of core Castlevania variants thrown like many of the weapons, items, enemies and locals. Having Dracula and Zobek fighting against Satan doesn't make them good guys as it's just a struggle of power between these three forces.

SPOILERS

Someone at gaf said that what we see is Dracula being defeated mentally after trying to fight God to get his love back so many times and failing each time. So the end is depressed defeated Dracula.

Still doesn't make it any better. Again I can't stand the idea of Dracula ever fighting for good.

Ok fine, it has nothing to do with CV, why is that ending any good? We now cut a thousand years into the future to see that Gabriel is a depressed Dracula and he has basically been sitting around doing nothing until its time to fight Satan again. Now you will say I am sure he had many battles, yes if you use the Castlevania we know as a template but you said to throw that out. Zobek comes back from the dead with no explination. The sequel will be Dracula and Zobek in modern day New York, does that sound like a good plot to you?

It's a really bad idea, done for shock value. If the end was Gabriel arriving at the castle and you see him giving into becoming the prince of darkness then it would have been a cool ending with great sequel potential.

I'll have to think back on why and how Zobek was able to show up again in the end as I'm not sure if it is something that was or can be explained within the game currently. It could be something they will reveal in the dlc. There is this dlc and another planned.

You can still have many battles inbetween when the first game ended and the epilogue we see after. I don't see why we have to throw those out because it's a reboot. They may not be the exact same as previous Castlevania sequels but they can still fill in the time period just the same.

If you do that then what is the point of that epilogue, then they are ignoring it. My point is that the ending was done for shock value and little else. There are a million better ways to show that he becomes Dracula.
