I bought two games yesterday:
X-COM Enemy Uknown. I had heard nothing but praise for so many years for the PC game. And this one is apparently equally great, or thereabouts so I had been wanting to try it. I understand it's turn based. I have loved Advance Wars and Fire Emblem games but I couldn't get into Civilization, so I'm not sure but I have a good feeling about this.
Elder Scrolls: Skyrim. I understand it's nothing like Dark Souls but I so badly want a game like Dark Souls ... even if only in setting. I know this doesn't make sense but it kind of does to me.
I got both for 30euros which I think is a bargain given the amount of potential game mileage in store.
Xcom is nothing like Civ, Bugs. Definitely more in the Fire Emblem style.

Both those games are nothing like you think they are.
I also bought Super Mario Kats from the eShop (and picked up Mysterious Cities of Gold a few days ago). And as a bonus I now have $10 in eShop credit. Yay Digital Deluxe Rewards!

Sir I think you've had enough. You need to slow down.
God dammit, if you're gonna buy anything else go buy Duck Tales.
I was just casually browsing on the Nintendo eshop when it came to my attention that Rayman Legends has been given a nice price drop. Even though I'm still not too comfortable with the idea of downloading full retail games and I much prefer to have a box and disc, this was significantly cheaper than I can find the boxed version anywhere at present (online or otherwise). So I thought to myself oh well, it'll be the same game downloadable or not.
So I added some funds and clicked on "purchase". Only to find out that the game is close to an 8GB download. More than my entire U HDD (yes I have the cheap basic SKU go ahead and point your finger at me for being hobo).
So I haven't bought it yet. I will look around to see if I have a portable HDD I'm willing to stick to the U so I can download more games, though I still would rather get them boxed given the choice.
Yes you would do well to get a cheap USB drive, remember it must have a Y cable or be one known to work. 350 gb is pretty cheap these days. Personally I don't want to buy full retail games digitally and store stuff on a drive. But Ubisoft have made me question this as they recentely had a sale and they tend to slash their game prices on the eshop to an amazing degree at times, at one point they had Zombi U and all other U launch games for £12 each.
Hells yeah! I just bought Rayman Legends Wii U for $24.99 from Amazon!
Americans can always price match at walmart. Super Mario Cats is $50 at KmartKmart and AC 4 will be $35 ...somewhere.

Hells yeah! I just bought Rayman Legends Wii U for euro 18.49 from zavvi!
This is perfect. I was going to buy this from the eShop the other day because it was price reduced to about 28 euros or so but I couldn't because it wouldn't fit on my U disk. But I wanted to get the boxed version anyway except up until a moment ago it was close to 50 euros.
I played the three levels in the demo last night and really enjoyed them.
Also got The Wonderful 101. Still full price but I guess it's what you'd call a "nice price" as opposed to what they charge for new games these days. And I heard enough good about it from Leo and Vader to know it'll be worth it (you can only compare it to Zelda so many times before I start seriously wanting it).
It's going to be a great Christmas with Mii and U
I picked up Dungeons and Dragons: Shadows over Mystara for the Wii U. Even got to play some couch multiplayer with a friend today and quite fun indeed. Nice throwback game for arcade kids of that era.
You forgot four: All of the above.
