I bought a few games today, one out of my love for a TV show, and one that I misplaced awhile ago and needed a new copy:

I picked up de Blob 2 last night, and have been playing it a bit this morning. Ummmmm.... this game is going to have to be discussed. I'm starting to understand why it was a bomb.

I've gotten through 3 levels of it so far and it's not a bad game, but so far it seems like every new addition or change they made ended up making the game worse. The 2-D levels are really boring and already seem really repetitive (even moreso than the regular game). More importantly what th hell did they do to the music? That was the best part of de Blob.... they've replaced it with some kind of tropical jazz.

I like the music but it's not as good as the original soundtrack. It's fairly similar in style I think it may even be by the same group. I like the 2D levels, they are just tidbits to the main levels so you can't really complain. There are good ones and average ones but in general the game is so easy to play it's never feels like a chore to play through them to me.

Afrika. (used)

Totally out of left field as well, since games like that are seldom seen around here. Most retailers won't bring them, and smaller game stores could but seldom happens. Got it out of a feeling of triumph, not because I was that interested in it anymore.

I imported it from Korea. It is a very mellow game. I think you'll enjoy it.

I bought

This is the third time I'm buying SFIV (no wonder capcom is still in business).  I felt I needed a game with a lasting value to play on the toilet.  I got bored of Mario Kart 7.  I love Street Fighter ... hopefully I'll be able to get into it this time around.

Last time I had the idea to buy a Street Fighter version I could play on the bog, I didn't like it that much, it was a bit too "new age" for me

I bought Catherine.  The weirdness drew me to this game from the start.  At £15 it was the right price for it.

Also bought that Giant Insect Game (the name of which escapes me at 6 in the morning) which Aspro likes so much and has recommended strongly.  I'm actually looking forward to trying that.

Fast Food Panic doesn't have any text on the edge.  Just a yellow polkadot pattern.

Been awhile since we had some proper hoboing going on here, Yoda. Good to see not everyone here hasn't managed to find a stable job and somewhere to live.

Hobo for life.

To make it official I picked up Person 3: FES and Skullgirls.

I'm going to wait until the weekend to sink my teeth into Person, but I've played some Skullgirls and christ almighty is this tough. This is not a 2-D fighter that you can just pick up as if it were Street Fighter or MK. This is a very different beast. Seems like it'll be fun though.
