“The basic idea is that bashing things with a sword is fun. So we plan to have as much destructibility in the environments as we can.”
“We’re also building a gameplay mechanic around destructible objects.....but I can’t say more than that at the moment.”

More developers need that atittude!
*Thinks of Fracture* okay maybe not.
“…Defining Red Steel 2 at a high level was easy. Taking all of the steps that were required to get to where I could say what I just said about the Wild West was really hard. We are, in some ways, attempting to redefine the franchise while retaining its roots. If you’re working with a movie license or a long-standing franchise, there are all these rules and constraints. It’s different for us. We are blessed with the opportunity to expand on something and take it in a cool new direction. But it’s hard.

Given the cartoon look they could have had decapitations and limbs being sliced off. Bloodless of course.
But they could have put some blood it, tiny splashes, a stain here or there.
(No jokes folks)

IGN had a hands on. It works

Well, as a general rule I try not to get too excited about previews. It's not often you read one that's anything less than enthusiastic.

Amen to that. For awhile every game on GS was called innovative before release, then called derivitive afterwards!

i agree. the art of this game looks fantastic. is no one else reminded of the look of the most recent prince of persia game? (is it the same ubisoft team making this?). the colour contrasts, the thick lines, the effects are all very similar.
the fact that this game apparently plays well is at this point a nice bonus

Yeah, looks like it. Must be a recent trend. Xblades (a shitty DMC clone with a girl in thong instead of a metrosexual demon hunter) has cutscenes like that as well.
I believe the overall look of this game is cleaner than PoP's. More defined in its shapes and lines.
SteelAttack said:I will be buying this game. I'm totally digging the art style, and the video of it in motion sold me on the game, it looks insanely good locked up at 60 fps. Ubi got my money on this title that shows nothing but quality and hard work put into it.
Awesome.
Even I'm suprised at how this one has turned out. Now I want a new play control version of the original game too.
