, why cant I just sit next to you.
- I've tried dealing with this on my own for far too long. I have little else I can do.
- This costs me nothing, and it's an hour a week to look forward to for nothing else than having nothing else to worry about during that time.
- Maybe nothing will work, but I'm not giving up, despite your objections.

Alternatively, you could sit in his lap.

I encourage you to stick whatever works for you. Coping mechanisms (and it is useful to breakdown that term to exactly what it describes) are different for everyone. I was in therapy for some time, it helped greatly with my depression until it didn't and then I stopped. Depression in my case was a combination of nature and environment. The therapy resolved the environmental components by identifying them and then being able to put them into appropriate perspective.
The nature side is handled through diet, exercise and rest.

Had a very well-timed good few days. Today I need to get through the remainder of two assignments, so having the extra energy is fortunate.

Hope you are managing your assignments OK. It was always very dangerous for me to fall behind and to go through terribly lengthy periods of procrastination instead of getting on with tasks at hand (like university assignments, exam revision, work etc) when I was going through a bad time. Still is but I seem to be able to manage it a bit better
I like to think that a lot of the time what people perceive to be psychological problems are situational. If you were around a different set of people or had more supportive family members things would be different.

Keep away from the friend zone.
So is you saying I's not special?
Yodariquo said:Thanks guys. Actually I managed to make things a lot worse, hitting a new low Monday. I won't get into the year-long story, but essentially I pulled a bugsy. Merry Christmas, huh?
Don't know what to say. I'm still hurting really bad and feel emotionally stagnant. Hope you don't go through the same agony
Dealing with clinical depression is always tricky, especially in smart people. Who seem to be the ones that get depressed the most, by the way.
There is no clear cut answer for this. Not that I think you were expecting one, mind you. Not everyone benefits from psychologic therapy, and not everyone improves with SSRIs, which, by the way, usually have significant side effects and withdrawal issues.
