That's what I like about Gears, what makes it unique. I'm becoming more of a team based fan myself.
I enjoyed it in the first, not in the second.
Frankly, I don't understand the amount of praise this series has gotten so far. Games of the Year? The second one doesn't really do anything all that dramatically different than the first and the single player campaign is almost exactly the same. It adds a bit more color and a more personal story line for the characters but... I dunno, it so linear and tedious at times.

Archangel3371 said:That's too bad about Gears 2 Leo. I didn't have a problem with the shooting myself. About that tentacled monster all you have to do is run up and chainsaw each tentacle when it grabs the raft. For throwing grenades press and hold the left trigger and you will see the exact path and spot that the grenade will travel.
Oh I knew HOW to kill it. Maybe because I was playing on Hardcore, but there was a very short window of time to actually GET TO the tentacle on the raft TO chainsaw it before getting dragged under. Some of the times I had to switch to the Flamethrower very quickly to try and fry it before I could reach it. That actually worked more often than not. I was holding the left trigger to throw the grenades. The monter's throat, or whatever it was you had to throw it into would invariably turn away before the grenade would reach it... It almost came down to luck for me... I tried again and again and again... Sometimes even blind throwing worked, but there seemed to be no logic to the movement, so I just got frustrated and quit.
*To be honest, I'll probably regret quitting in a week or so. My mood is very sour right now and --NOTHING-- is doing it for me right now... Nothing! I even traded in LA Noire last night...*
*sigh!*

Wow! Easily one of the best down-loadable games ever! I would have paid for this game at retail, easily! Combining elements of Metroid, Prince of Persia and Ikaruga (You just have to play it to "get" it) combined with beautiful graphics and spot-on controls... This is one of those rare games that does almost NOTHING wrong and possesses your soul until you finish it! If I may make a suggestion, THIS should be the next "Game Club" game! The map is perfect, btw, and back-tracking was absolutely unnecessary, though it makes the game a little easier if you go back to find some of the hidden coin caches to purchase more life and magic upgrades! I don't think any other game in recent memory commanded more of my attention while playing and felt so rewarding to finish. It was challenging at times, for sure, but the whole switching colors on the fly, REALLY kept me on my toes and was BRILLIANTLY executed! Available now on both PSN and XBLA, no one has an excuse NOT to get it!

...wait a second!? there are no credits at the end!
...the game doesn't END!?
I am counting Torchlight beaten! I finished the Main Campaign and killed the Ultimate Bad Guy around which the story centers! Must say, I loved the entire game with the exception of the last Boss Battle! If anyone is interested in hearing about it, post a reply and I'll describe it, but I'm not going to put energy into writing about it if I don't have to! Beating the last guy was enough of an ordeal in itself! Best thing about the game is, you can still look for loot and explore an endless dungeon IF YOU WANT. I can see a lot of players wanting to, too! Tons of cool loot. Lots of varying weapons and spells. Colorful and Progressively harder Monsters. Addicting Ember collecting and Combining... the list goes on and on! I wish there was more to the story, but, hey, you play the loot games for the loot, right? Online would have been perfect, but alas, not in this one! Maybe in Torchlight 2! Get a move on Runic, I'm sure I'm not the only one eagerly awaiting whatever you do next!

Having had a little bit of trouble with the Hard Drive on my last 360, I decided to replace it with a new one. I found transferring the games and the licenses to be very, very easy to do (wish I would have done this last time)!
My taste for shooters went south during the last two weeks of me being sick and I found I can't stand the sight of them at the moment. That being said, some of my 360 shooters went towards the new system, leaving me with no actual DISC games for my 360!
...which is fine, actually! There's really not much I'm looking forward to in the immediate future and certainly nothing I couldn't just get on the PS3 anyway!
With the Summer of Arcade beginning next week with Bastion, being followed with From Dust and Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, shortly after, I am going to have my fill of games to play, regardless! ...and they are ---ALL--- looking awesome!! A real-time narrated (zelda-like?) action-adventure game? A Populous-like God-Sim? A Metroid game? Who needs discs?
My playing habits in the summer (normally) tend to be quick, pick-up and play games (like Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat) which I have enough of on the PS3, so for the time being, I am more than satisfied!
*Anyone still on the fence about getting a 360 *VADER* this summer would be an ideal time to take the plunge!*
Leo, I meant to ask you about "Shadows of the Damned". I noticed it unceremoniously appear in the "Removed Games" section but sadly it didn't make it into the glowing red list of "Finished" games. I do remember you having fun with it at some point. What happened? Why did you lose interest? Was it just a case of too many new good games competing for your time?
It's one of a few games I will almost certainly get as soon as its price reduces slightly on the strength of its pedigree but i'd be very interested to hear some final impressions from you
It's a great game but I suddenly lost interest in most action games (especially shooters) when I was home sick for a few weeks. I WILL pick it up and finish it one day. Despite what anyone says, the game is GREAT and a LOT of fun!

I played the demo of From Dust today. I've never played a Populous type game, except the SNES Sim City, so this experience is new to me. You're basically helping your tribe of men to populate the land by creating villages, vegetation and moving to distant lands to build on. Each time you bring your men to a totem, a new village emerges. You play as the Breath, which is a magical force that can manipulate the elements to help your tribe. I guess it plays somewhat like Sim City because you have to maintain a balance between your villages, the animal population and the vegetation. You can pick up the earth to create a bridge, use lava to build, water for life.
The demo is a lot of fun, but I'm not sure I could recommend it because of the steep price (1200 points). If it was about 800 points, then it would be an instant buy.
Probably not. Nothing interesting about it yet.
