Many people (myself included) ask for the introduction of technology in a higher degree to assists the referees, but in reality, the first thing you need to address is increasing the quality of referees themselves. That is especially evident when looking at the gross mistakes that have been occurring at this WC.
You know, in hockey, diving's a penalty. I take it the world cup doesn't have such a rule.

They are crooked just watch the World cup in south Korea and Japan in 2002. Even worse than this one.

I think the English will now open their mouth too. It's just a matter of time.
Two incredibly bad decisions today, one in either game. First a perfectly good goal, not counted which would have brought England level. Then a goal which came from a player who was clearly in an offside position and should have never which made it 1 - 0 for Argentina.
Both decisions may or may not have had a huge impact and tipped the balance of the games.
It's sad that we are discussing the referees' mistakes instead of the games themselves which have all been very entertaining after the group stages
Refs get extra security after bad call
I find this very amusing. This is easier than adding replay I suppose.
Perhaps along with video refs they might want to also hire some competant referees and linesmen.

It is meant to be a free kick+yellow card. Of course that does not happen much as some calls can look 50/50 the frist time you see them. That one was pretty obvious, though.
After seeing this I'm convinced Lampard never scored and it was correctly not given
bugsonglass said:Brasil v Portugal is the worst game yet. Both teams are through and they are just tamely passing the ball around as if they couldn't care less ... which is just how they feel.
If I'd payed for a ticket to see that I'd be very pissed off.
That match was shit. I expected two good teams trying to score.
bugsonglass said:Shit it's all happening. England back into it. 2 - 1. Then another clear goal by Lampard (ball went in by over a foot of distance) somehow no given.
Amazing game
Awful game, 4 -1. The defence was.... well where was the english defence? The German strikers had so much space and free time they could virtually stop in the penalty area, look up, and then shoot. WTF?
I'm so sick of this bunch of losers, they need to say a big FU to some of these big name players who never bring it to the international competitions.

That Lampard goal was a joke. Millions of people worldwide could see on TV it was over the line, yet the actual referee can't. Someone could whisper in his ear at halftime and they should adjust the damned score.

Tevez goal right?
So USA, Mexico, England, Greece out. The VGpress countries are going down. Holland is left for Iga. Who else?
Japan is still in it.
Kaz, Iwata, Miyamoto all of those guys are still in. They never post in the football forum though
