^There is something about hockey, and I think it is because of the scarcity of scoring, that makes you stand up from your seat and yell "YESSSSS SCORRRRRRRE!!!!!" when you finally pull ahead of your opponent (either VG or RL). Futbol is the same for me, for the same reasons.
By comparison, in basketball (I am a Lakers fan), it gets to the point where everyone scores so much that one ends up only watching the last 5 minutes of game time.

i agree the only sports that hold my interest enough to sit and watch are ones where scoring is scarce. mainly football. i guess i could take an interest in hockey as well, it seems cool.
oh as for my favourite scenario, naturally "Chelsea wins", everytime. don't care about the specifics or the score or whether it's from behind or not 
other favourite scenarios include: Man Utd loses. Liverpool loses. Arsenal Loses ... you get the picture

Yeah the referring was biased as hell, but it was a simply awesome match all the same! Will add some more later.
First one that immediately comes to mind is the 2005 Champions League final between AC Milan and Liverpool. To explain why it's so awesome, I need to explain a few things.
Before the series, AC Milan were involved in massive scandal which involved various top teams in the Serie A (the top Italian football league) in matchfixing - which caused many fines and demoted a few other teams down to the Serie B (the second tier league). If memory serves, AC should'nt have BEEN in the fucking Champions League, but FIFA backed off and lowered some of the punishments, which is complete bullshit.
Anyway, by the end of the first half, AC are up 3-0, and Liverpool are not looking like the team that made it all this way just to completely lose out. Then, during the second half, something magical happens - Liverpool start scoring. By the end of the second half, Liverpool match AC Milan, concluding at 3-3.
Extra time is then played, but no-one scores, leading into penalty shootouts. By now, the match has become extremely competitive and can go either way, and is already one of the best matches many are bound to have seen. From there, Liverpool manage to snatch victory. And it's awesome.

I still like the Angels comeback against the Giants in the 2002 WS, but I understand that is due to my bias. The Giants Manager, Dusty baker, had given the game ball to his starting pitcher as he dismissed him from the mound, telling him it was the ball that won the WS for the Giants and it'd be worth something... the baseball gods did not like that and the Angels came back to stave off elimination and ultimately won their first WS. Helps that Barry Bonds bobbled two plays in that game as well

I love anything that has an ecstatic crowd. Sports, movies, whatever. An ending with massive happy cheering makes everything better.

We won 1-0 from a Muscat penalty then lost 3-0 in Montivideo. 
No, that's not a nice sporting scenario, but 4 years later we had a chance for revenge against Uruguay. The first leg was in Montivideo which we lost 1-0 thanks to some dodgy decisions if you ask me. The bloody FFA decided to play the second leg in Sydney, but on television it was no less epic. We equalised and this followed. I must apologise to the Neighbours and our dogs for all the screams of joy.Here's a completely biased one. The first grand A-League grand final I went to. The stadium's atmosphere was extremely nervous before kick-off and not much changed after it as our bitter rivals Adelaide United started well. In the semi-final (strange finals system!) we beat Adelaide over 2 legs with a winning goal in the last minute of the match. Which should probably be here instead of this.
But anyway, as lots and lots of red flair smoke drifted across the ground we began to attack and as Fred who had spent the whole year brutally raping everyone set up the first goal the crowd settled. 6 goals later, 5 scord by Archie Thompson and all set up by Fred, and the final whistle finally blew. After which the cheering didn't stop, and the booing resumed as Adelaide did nothing to improve the Melbourne supporters view of them. 
The icing on the cake. And he now plays for Adelaide, damn him!
4th quarter, down 4-6 points, 80 yards to go, Tom Brady has the football.
I'm not a fan of Boston, not always fond of watching New England win, but I like some hype ass clutch play, and Tom Brady is a fucking treat in these situations. Otherwise I tend to like comebacks as much as the next guy, but truly heavyweight match ups where it feels like it went back and forth all game is more entertaining to me. Blow out always gives off the impression that one side took the foot off the gas or started fucking up. The most recent Superbowl was technically a comeback, but it had a great back and forth vibe to it, and hey Brady in a big spot against a fun as hell to watch defense (albeit banged up).
It's only happened 7 times since 1987.
That is only goalies that shot the puck into the goal. There have been other times when a goalie got credit for a goal but it was because they were the last one to touch the puck on their team before someone on the other team accidentally shot it into their own net.

Tense penalty shoot outs in World Cups are the best. Especially when one poor sod misses and costs their country the match.
This was pretty amazing. Cricket records in general are fantastic to witness, so long as they're not happening to the team you support. Luckily this was pure schadenfreude for me.
I'm not looking for moments or events in sport, just what your favorite scenario is.
Mine, regardless of the sport, is the come from behind win after a decent battle (no blow outs). Baseball in the 9th inning, Hockey or Futbol where two goals are made in the last minutes when the score has been 1 to nil the entire game... those kinds of things.
