Chart that breaks up revenue of Sony's gaming devision. My hunch about DLC was correct. It's the biggest driver of revenue, bigger than actual total revenue due to game sales.

That's crazy.

But I guess when you're really into a game you buy a lot of dlc.

I've bought 16 seasons worth of Snowrunner DLC.

There's a rumor the Death Stranding will be coming to the Switch 2.

The 14% that comes PSN subscriptions caught me off guard, but I don't know why it would. That's definitely a strong reminder of why we're never getting free online play again from any console.

I found the chart on Eurogamer, but readers there are commenting that it doesn't give a correct view as it only shows the income to Sony, not the income of physical sales to 3rd parties.  So that 3% includes only their own 1st party games of which there haven't been too many, and the cut they take from 3rd party sales.  Physical games apparently constitute 24% of all game sales when you just count the units sold.

Then again, if that is so, you'd still expect the percent points for physical and digital to be more in a ratio of about 1:3?

Damn SH is already next week. I still need to beat Silksong and MGS3. Also started my RE series playthrough. Oh and Ghosts comes out the week after, ahhhh stop with the releases.

Silksong is totally kicking my ass, it crossed the line into just being mean and dumb but I just got past the part I was stuck on so I'm enjoying it again. Its a masterpiece to be sure but that difficulty is a bit much and ruins any flow I start to have. I think its better designed than the first but maybe not as enjoyable to play. Still right up there with E33 as my GOTY.

Made it to Akiva in SW Outlaws.

It's a lush green planet. Started to really enjoy the game. It's a simple pleasure, but sneaking into an Imperial base, stealing from them, then blasting stormtroopers on the way out, then jumping onto your speeder bike to escape.

It's just fun. As is swaggering into a seedy bar on a far off planet.

I probably wouldn't enjoy it without motion aiming, but since its there the base shooting is fun.

Not sure I like the spaceship combat. At first it was this light traversal and fun.

Now I seem to always be wanted and have to fight tooth and nail to escape. I finally got past one section only to hyperspace my way to escape. Only to end up in another area where I'm wanted and have long dogfights.

The ship you use isnt as manoeuvrable as the fighters which attack you. The lock on system is sketchy. There's no motion aiming as far as I can see even with motion steering turned on. The controls can be a bit odd.

And the lock on sometimes drags you into space debris. You can just turn on easy mode to get through it though.

Network "services" has got to be almost entirely profit, too.

To think that I bought my Xbox Series X in March of 2023 I paid $599.99 for it. And that was Canadian. Insane. LOL

They are really making the Switch 2 seem like a sweet deal.
