I'm sick.

So mopping up loose bananas in DK BANANZA.

Also decided to play Vertigo, a Telltale like adventure game based on the old Hitchcock movie or book or whatever.

Will report back with impressions.

So Yooka Replaylee has a 30% discount for owners of the first game but...

Nintendo Switch 2: In Nintendo of America regions, players who own Yooka-Laylee are eligible for an automatic discount when purchasing Yooka-Replaylee.

Both Playtonic and PM Studios explored every possible option to extend the same offer to players in other regions. However, regional store systems do not currently support this specific promotion. Thank you for your understanding. We truly appreciate everyone’s enthusiasm and support worldwide.

This is bullshit as I upgraded Hogwarts Legacy switch to 2 and it automatically changed the price of the switch 2 version.

I’m fine with it myself. The PS5 will likely get a solid 4 years or so of full support so it wouldn’t matter all that much if you buy it at launch or wait awhile.

These companies release more consoles than they do games these days.

I'm not so sure about how long cross-gen will be. Next gen consoles will heavily use AI upscaling, which the standard PS5  isn't capable of.

Madden 28 will look just fine on my PS5 without all that fancy, overpriced AI fakery.

In terms of time its about that time for a new console but I don't know, the graphical enhancements are just not that big anymore. I feel we are just getting non cross games now, and now we want to start a new gen already? I just dont know what a PS6 exclusive game would look like? What wont run on current hardware.

Ive had the worst 24 hours of my life since Covid vaccination days.

Ive got flu, constantly shivering or too hot. Pounding headache. Can't sleep. Running nose, stomach cramps.

Feel like vomiting right now.

I'd forgotten how hard Kid Chameleon (Genesis) was; so many cheap deaths.

This magazine ad sold me on the game back in the day:

I think Kid Chameleon was the first game I ever saw reviewed on TV. It's the first one I remember anyway. I think there was a show on Nickelodeon that reviewed games. It wasn't something I regularly watched for some reason, but I thought it was really cool to see games get reviewed on TV like Siskel and Ebert did with movies.

I was really underwhelmed by it though. Seem like it should have been a lot cooler of a game than it was, because the concept was there. It was probably the difficulty, but I remember I rented it one time and then never again.

I think the only time I saw games reviews on TV was the early 90s Saturday morning Gamepro TV. Terrible show but it was cool to see the games being played instead of just screenshots.
