Fuck Amazon or fuck Square-Enix or just to keep all my bases covered, fuck both of them. I decided I would finally grab a copy of the Final Fantasy pixel remaster collection. For most of December it was around $35, but promised myself I wasn't going to buy any games until I had a big refund go through on Amazon for a digital camera that I can't use. I figured that way I'm still using credits and not my own money and I can pretend I'm being responsible.

Well as of today the game went back up and priced a $50. Yes that's only a difference of $15, but God damn it I have principles. And I can't confidently call myself a hobo gamer if I spend that much on a game.

Picked up some games in the sale:

Outlast 2
Lil Guardsman
Kingdom Come Deliverance
Ruiner
Verne the Shape of fantasy
Tales of the Neon Sea

Damn Outlast has great graphics, then you pick up the camera and whether you're actually using it or not the game obliterated the visuals with a mandatory film grain you can't disable.

What a waste, even the first corridor looked equivalent to RE9 to me.

I loaded up eshop credit to buy Dispatch before it releases Friday. Only to then learn it won't release untill the 29th. Hrm I don't think I can keep the hype spike going that long...

I'm suffering too, but I'm using a first defence Nadal spray which does seem to alleviate the symptoms.

Happy New Year everybody!

Yeah, I really enjoyed that Stranger Things finale. They did a good job wrapping it up. Appreciate the length of time between the later seasons. The older cast worked very well with how they ended things.

The finale of Stranger Things was very good. After the previous episode, I was worried, but I guess its entire purpose was just to let everyone have a nice long monologue and get that out of the way for the wrap up. Granted, there was one little detail that stuck out like a sore thumb to me that took me out at the very end, but overall it was a damn good finale.

Actually, turns out I'm wrong and the detail was correct. It's about the d&d campaign they play. I thought the campaign was introduced in a book from 2016. But after fact checking myself, it turns out the full huge campaign was created that year, there was sort of a mini version of it that was written in 1983. The 2016 version, which was the one I played for several years, was just the fully fleshed out version.

I was kind of wondering how they could slip up on something like that, but now it makes sense. No harm, no foul. Turns out the worst thing wasn't errant Starbucks cup in one scene, and the under armor logo showing on something Holly was wearing in an earlier episode.
