I like the extra size of the buttons and sticks on the new joycon, the magnets are awesome too.
However as someone with small hands it's made the console less comfortable for me to hold in handheld mode. I used to be able to slip my little fingers under to support the weight.
And the edge that's magnetised is a bit sharp to use in split offscreen play.
I used silicon shells with OG switch, need to get a decent pair for mouse mode too.
Has anyone tried switching eshop region to buy games?
How do you do it and does it work?
Nintendo sold 3.5 million Switch 2 consoles in four days. Unbelievable.
Didn't Nintendo mention getting around scalpers by having enough units in stock?
I guess it's because they produced them en masse before launch. Overstock?
I miss winter except for the driving on icy roads. I don't mind the cold so much, but it was 91° F here yesterday and it's awful. Cold > heat
Someone in the tropics complaining of the cold, responded to by someone complaining that 32c is hot...
What's interesting is that they seem to able to output at 4k from fairly low rendering resolutions.
4K60 DLSS Mode - 648p render resolution
4K30 DLSS Mode - 720p render resolution
Making me wonder why more 3rd party games can't achieve this.
I keep hitting the minus sign on your post but it won't work!

RIP Brian Wilson.
Brian Wilson, cofounder of The Beach Boys and the creative force behind the group’s surf sound, orchestral arrangements and perfect harmonies, has died, his family announced on Wednesday.
He was 82.
“We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved father Brian Wilson has passed away,” his family wrote in the statement “We are at a loss for words right now. Please respect our privacy at this time as our family is grieving. We realize that we are sharing our grief with the world.”
DF basically says the resolution is a mess and the reconstruction doesn't work.
So yeah, a lot of 3rd party games should be able to achieve that same lofty goal.
Absolute legend.
It looks fine to me. Nice and sharp when not moving and when you race you're flying by so fast the background is mostly a blur anyway.
I remember DF complaining about Wii U Fast racing saying it was a 480p resolution when it was a sharp looking game.
DF we're wrong about the resolutions of quite a few Switch 2 games in the lead up. Now they have the actual game to test they're more accurate but it seems like naval gazing when I'm playing a game that looks this good and they're freezing the screen at a particular moment to zoom in and count pixels.
This game is played at blazing fast speeds. Very fun too.
Yeah, I bought it, but sadly have only been able to play 3 championships. I also can't play it above 1080p since my TV doesn't support 4K, so I assume I won't notice the resolution much. In general I don't even notice such things, I just wanted to give some nuance to your claim that it was amazing and every developer should get it to work. This also disregards the notion that Shin'en is technically a very accomplished developer who have their own engine with a lot of custom solutions.
Looks like I have a podcast to listen to at work today. Nice!
Edit: Nintendo's business executives were always greedy bullies, but they've have become completely unhinged in recent years, IMO. Success often brings out the worst in companies. Sad to see.
Edit 2: I hadn't heard that Peter Molyneux "Not on rails" story before.
Thanks for listening, much appreciated.
Listened to the first 49 minutes. Does start off with an 'old men shouting at clouds' vibe. When I was young and spent my time gaming, a lot of adults didn't get that either.
As for the Switch2: I wonder how the choice of plastic for the shell will hold up over time. It looks like it'll become shiny fast in the places where you hold it, which would really ruin the aesthetic.
Been playing free roaming in Mario Kart World and was enjoying it.
Then I realised that this actually feels a lot like another game I've played and recommended before.
Off the road Unleashed. And I'd actually say, as a game designed around large open world maps and picking up missions, it's a lot better than the free roaming in MKW.
You exit the vehicle, enter houses and warehouses, lighthouses. You can open garages that act like bases. You have races and challenges, stunts and various stuff and it's only like $8.
You can also fly helicopters. I think you can even ride boats.
One of the coolest things was flying a helicopter, picking up a vehicle, flying it to an island and then dropping the car, getting into it and driving around the island to do the missions on said map.
I used to go to the eshop then user account and redownload section.
Now if you go there it says to go to the virtual game card menu.
When you go there there is no redownload option. You can load a game to the switch 2.
Which all games are already, loaded meaning authorised to play on your switch 2
But again, no redownload option there.
I can only redownload games by clicking on individual icons on the home screen.
But when you delete a game there's the option to keep or delete the game icon from your menu.
So what happens if you delete the game icon? Can you no longer redownload your game?
