I didn't play as much this weekend; too tired. I played some GT7, messed about with Obivion on PC, and did a handful of rounds of Rastan and Dig Dug arcade.
This week I played a game called Desert Child. Indie game, not worth trying. Also started The Forgotten City which is a game based on the Skyrim engine, developed in Australa. Supposed to be good (available for free on Amazon Prime Games or $12 on Steam right now). Came out a couple of years ago. Not really clicking with me yet, but I'm only 20 minutes into it.
Then chipped away at Plague Tale with the 45 minutes I had as "downtime" this weekend. Almsot finished, only a couple of chapters to go.
Astro Bot is great! I'm close to the end. So many inventive levels, every one seems to do something new. The challenge isn't exactly high though but it's just a blast to play. Oh and collecting the bots that spam the entire history of PS is so much fun. So they do these little animations when you unlock their toy in the toy machine. Raziel turns the world into the shadow realm for a moment. Snake is in his box and if you hit him a magazine pops out. There are so many, it's a great collectible. Oh and there are special levels where you becomes certain PS characters, the Uncharted level was a stand out.
it feels a lot like LBP2 did, with so many gadgets and new ideas every level. For me though I did play the VR game and love playroom... it's a lot of the same. Most of the enemies are the same, some environments are the same, some bosses while new patterns are reused (to be fair Mario has had the same boss for 40 years). And Astro bot just isn't that interesting mechanically at his base, he needs those gadgets to make it fun, where Mario has this core moveset that allows the player to do crazy high level things. I'm not sure this game is reaching the highest levels of platforming, but recently it's one of the best. Let's say I have to make a choice between Wonder and this one, it's close, I'm leaning Wonder.
I've been playing Splatoon's final Big Run over the weekend. It's a special event that'll sometimes run over the weekend, like splatfest, but these are PvE, variations on the regular Salmon Run mode.
Since this was the last ever one as updates will end after next weekend's Splatfest, Nintendo made it extra special. It was set on a unique course and everyone was given unique, never before seen weapons. These were truely OP weapons in their own classes and total carnage ensued. It was glorious. Snipers that dealt massive damage and required no time to load. Rollers that could instakill nearly anything and gave you supernatural running speed, letting you mow down nearly anything that came across your path. A blaster that dealt huge damage and could fire 5 or more blasts in a second.
There were rewards promised if players managed to amass a total of 700 million eggs. That total was breached in about 12 hours. The in game tally 'broke' at 999.999.999 eggs, but I'm assuming many, many more were gathered.
It was the best thing in Splatoon3 so far and I don't see how next weekend's Splatfest will be able to top it.

Yeah, it doesn’t reach the same heights as the Mario games but is still such a great game nonetheless. Looks great, has solid gameplay, and is just so damn charming. Makes me want to go and play the Super Mario Galaxy games again.
I have a love/hate relationship with point and click adventure games. I like them in theory but when I play them I get put off by nonsenseical puzzles and frustrating level design.
The last one I played all the way through was 999 on DS. It's loosely a point & click / visual novel hybrid, I suppose.
There's a Rumour that Switch 2 may have an open dock so you can see the screen when it's docked. Also a Rumour of an in built mic. Maybe it will double as an alarm clock/smart speaker when it's docked.
Show you the weather? The return of the Wii news channel?

Voodoo Detective would be perfect for you. All logical puzzles.
Also very cheap on sale. Like $3 or something when I got it.

Played Astro Bot this weekend. Such a great game. Also watched AEW All Out PPV. Pretty good show.

Played a good bit of Star Wars Outlaws this weekend. I may be a little over halfway done.

Rockstar execs:

Release the GTA V 2024 Edition!
I had to look it up to be sure, but yep there's already a Grand theft Auto V for the PS5 and Series X. Maybe they can release it for the switch?
And what's your favourite?
Have you considered playing any more recent ones? Recent being in the last 15 years lol
Good question and I have no clue.

James Earl Jones RIP. Thought he was already dead.
