Thats true. I'm struggling to see any big graphical difference, or any, between this gen and last. I'm currently playing The Quarry, which looks fantastic, but is it really much better than Until Dawn?
If I'd upgrade to current gen home console hardware, it'd mostly be just to get rid of those annoying loading times. Seems to be the biggest differentiating factor to me.
I suppose the other half of the equation is the abundance of free-to-play games. Kids don't have to save up allowances anymore, wait for holidays or beg their parents for a game. Most of the big free-to-play games get updated on a regular basis, or have people creating their own levels for them so there's always content. And since they have friends also playing, it doesn't make as much sense for them to go out and get something new that they can only play by themselves.
I've been playing Spore this weekend. I'm really enjoying the creative aspects of it. The Gog version allows you to jump into any creator mode from the start and build creatures, buildings, vehicles and space ships without having to play through the game normally. That's a massively welcome upgrade from the base game, since I enjoy building stuff the most. I may look into some mods to see if any add more gameplay depth to the earlier stages; they're fun but basic.
This weekend has mostly been about WrestleMania for me this weekend. Part one last night was pretty good and part two tonight looks to be even better.
Game wise I played some more Diablo IV, Evil West, and 2K Drive. Not too into Evil West. I like the premise and want to enjoy it more but don’t like the colour filter they use which makes everything look so orange and not really feeling the combat mechanics. 2K Drive is a pretty enjoyable LEGO driving/racing game.

Yes, quick resume is fantastic and the best thing about this gen, but certainly not something to wow the masses.
I don't trust it. First time I used it it lost my save, so I tur off my consoles like it was in the 90's.
I also turn off the power suply to my consoles. I've made sure all the sockets are on one switch.

God, this game has me on the edge. When the Gamecocks aren't playing I've been playing The Quarry on Xbox Series S.
Woooo!! They win!! Go Gamecocks!
