Revision of their console. They have to get attention given Sony is out sellign them what 2 to 1? or is it 3 to 1?
So game pass bring in $646 million a month in revenue. They paid $69 billion for Activision. So at this rate in 9 years they'll generate enough revenue to match what they paid. 9 years. And that's if the revenue was 100% profit!
I heard that the XBOX business now surpasses the Windows operating system revenues with the aquisition of Activision. And while Windows is basically free to anyone that already has it, it is till a big busines division for MS.
Foolz and I have been playing Roblox for the next podcast, have any of you tried it?
My children are really into Roblox and have been for a couple of years now. Maybe I will start an account this weekend.
Well the ABK stuff brings in much more outside of Game Pass. The King stuff brings in a lot of cash on mobile.
The solution is to play them on the Switch screen. It's one of the best things about playing portable. All the games that look too stretched out or blocky are perfectly in proportion on the smaller screen.
Definitely not my thing. Though I will admit, there were some really impressive games that some people designed on it.
I agree. They do look best on a small screen. I like playing them on my big screen too, though. Easier to play with my arcade stick that way.
Sounds interesting but how much will it cost? Will it be a cloud computing hybrid?
I’m wondering how much of a part AI might factor into it.
Yeah, I'm sure it will be used as much as possible.
Switch 2 delayed to Q1 2025 now, multiple outlets are claiming.
It works for other games too. Syberia 3 looks terrible on TV, acceptably decent on the Switch lcd. Observer too etc.
The announcement is being delayed.
This wouldn't surprise me. Nintendo probably wants the current Switch to outsell the PS2 before replacing it.
Good point.
So Switch will be 8 years old by then FFS.
glad i got the OLED.
So I'm on the final boss of Octopath Traveler 2 and was doing great with my A team of 4 most powerful team members.
Then midway through the fight he sucked them into a dark void, at which point my B team had to fight. These 4 assholes can't fight their way out of a paper bag.
There's a dancer, a merchant, a herbal healer and a thief.
The merchant is virtually useless with no attacks worth shit. The dancer can only inflict a dagger on a single foe or dark damage to all (completely useless) on the God of Darkness.
The apochathery has no decent attacks and can't even heal all like a cleric.
Don't even get me started on the dancer, with a wind attack that's virtually useless throughout the whole game.
And I'm faced with like 6 dark tentacles with multiple different break points.
Also since this is a unique game ending situation, where half your team just disappears I had no secondary jobs assigned to the weaker characters.
And of course my B team is like 20 levels below my A team - why can't JRPGs just level the whole team evenly??
To make matters worse you have to go do other work to get multiple job licences, so now I have to go do that.
Also, there are unique skills that ca t be replicated even with licences. I thought the end of the game was in sight as I'd beaten everything, was chewing through bosses and had done every side quest. Now I have a long week ahead of levelling up, getting new licences and working new strategies.
I think part of it is they're looking at 2024 and predicting it to be a pretty uneventful year in the grand scheme of things so that t doesn't hurt them to wait. Nintendo still has a few big titles in the wings, and decent third party support that's getting bolstered by Microsoft. So if waiting a year doesn't hurt sales and keeps them closer to the launch of next gen systems it's not the worst idea from a business standpoint.
Why did you put a dancer on your team, GG?
