I finished South Park Stick of Truth. Being an Obsidian-developed game it was excellent. Now I'm at a loss as to what to play next as I was looking thorugh my PS3 library and I've pretty much beaten them all or as much as I want to and don;t want to replay anything. So I went over to PS1 (My gaming at home is limited to the Playstaion products I've hooked up to a second TV, since the main TV is not generally accessible to me). I figured I'd stick with RPGs and put int eh classic Grandia... And holy shit it doesn't hold up. The graphics... I almost cut my eyes on them and the pacing... oh my god.... so slow. Has me totally re-evaluating my retirement, that PS1 library was going to carry me for at least 6 years of gaming!
So I've hooked up a PS2 to the "Playstation Station" and will explore that library for a while.
That's how I felt when seeing Super Mario RPG on the SNES mini for the first time. Ouch!
Oh, that reminds me. I probably should get the remake soon.
I've been playing Baldur's Gate 3, which is very good; good enough that I actually intend to finish it, despite its ridiculous length, so that's saying something. But I'm not sure it lives up to the hype, to be honest.
It's really good but not as good as reviews are making out so far. I'm on cloud land and it's not very challenging. I love the visual spectacle of the wonder seeds.
But it's kinda reminding me that NSMB is actually a high quality series, its just the art that got boring. Wonder's great, but I'd equally enjoy going back to replaying NSMBU.
I wish everything was on Switch so I could lay back on the couch and play it on the OLED. BTW the game looks awesome on the OLED.
So this is what current gen graphics are capable of? I don't care about the Avatar brand much, but I kinda want to check it out for the graphics alone. Wish game rentals were still a thing.

Looks great, I believe they said the analysis is done on a high end PC.
Meanwhile I'm testing 2k Mclassic with Switches most blurry games. Games so blurry I never even try to play more than 5 mins on a 4ktv.
The games I tested were Valley and The Suicide of Rachel Foster. Both looked much better, its almost magic how Mclassic sharpens and cleans up the image whilst boosting colour. It sadly can't do anything about the frame rate or texture quality. Makes me wish for a similar device with DLSS frame generation. Imagine playing old games with a device that can fill in the gaps with old games to give a smooth frame rate too.
Anyhow, looking forward to trying Observer with it, that is the most blurry game I've ever seen on a TV.
Am I going crazy? It feels like Elephant and Fire Flower are so ubiquitous in Mario Wonder it feels like there almost no variation in the power ups.
Agreed, the lack of satisfying powerups is a real shame. There's no form of flight whatsoever. The elephant is so versatile that it's basically elephant or bust. Due to the abundant gameplay variations inflicted by the wonder flowers it's not as problematic, but if you'd do a wonder flowerless run it would really stand out.
I found the bubble flower to be a cool addition, but very much underutilized. The drill lends itself well to specific puzzles, but isn't fun to use.
Yup. Tom is working on a console version of this video. According to their weekly video chat, XSX and PS5 are still quite comparable.
Can't quite believe the consoles have been out like 3 years now? So cross gen held it back?

I've often been an elephant and had an elephant power up saved. I've actually wanted to be able to ditch the elephant and play as standard Mario. The bubbles would be cool if the bubbles lasted longer to use as platforms.
Who pays $250 a month for internet? This might be practical for businesses, but for families it's really overkill.
I pay €30 or so for 150Gig of hobo-speed internet, and for us even that is plenty.
Yeah it's nice as even faster speeds would be, that is just too much. I have my internet bundled with a cell phone plan for three users and it's only $300.
That's kind of a shame though. The North Carolina triangle is one of the areas that were considering moving to next year.

Not on Gamepass.
It's on my GOG account.

Yeah that Avatar games looks absolutely gorgeous. Very impressive stuff. I also watched a bit of gameplay and it looks quite fun.
Much better value than gamepass. I recommend it to others.
You will also have access to other games, including Creatures Exodus, Akalabeth: World of Doom and Tyrian 2000.

The bubbles are okay at best but rarely show up. The elephant just let's you power through anything.
I loved that level which turned into a top down presentation. Makes me want a 2D Mario Galaxy game.

What more could you want?

Haven't seen the drill yet.
