This has been one of the strangest weekends of my life. I'm going to tell you three things I did this weekend. Two actually happened to me. One was in a video game.

1. I spent an afternoon in downtown talking with homeless people asking them if they had seen a friend. The friend is a talented artist, but has also struggled with alcoholism and has found himself homeless. He has been now missing for over a week. Lots of people said they have seen him but not recently.

2. I had to track down a missing bag. After talking to a different group of homeless people, I learned that the bag was stolen and taken by a group of young punk ass kids. Ultimately they were identified, because one of the idiots was wearing an obnoxious yellow watch that was in the bag, that no one in their right mind would pay for.

3. While at the beach an older woman approached me and told me she had gotten lost. After some conversation, she was able to tell me her name and that she was married, but she couldn't remember her husband's name or his phone number. After realizing she was sick, called emergency services and it turned out she had been called in missing several hours earlier. It turned out she had actually wandered 17 miles from her home while collecting seashells.

Yes it was. Still playing Judgement. In addition to the missing bag case, I also visited a brothel, only to discover the prostitute I was going to visit has been relocated and had the crap kicked out of me by the local Yakuza captain.

I played a little bit of Splatoon3's new 'Big Run' mode, which is basically just Salmon Run but in a regular level as opposed to the dedicated Salmon Run stages.  It's a much more cramped experience because these levels feel smaller than the dedicated ones.

Other than that I didn't do much of anything except demolish the plaster in our staircase.  We're having big works done to our house, after years of planning and while nearly all of it is being done by good contractors, this is something I was going to do myself.  The amount of dust this produces is ridiculous.  I couldn't see the end of the stairs when standing at either end.  We managed to keep our living room and kitchen free of dust, but all other rooms are coated in a thin veil.  Most fog I've seen since the days of gaming on the N64.

So I'm 9 hours into Prime remastered.

Chewing through it faster than usual as it's my 4th time playing this game, (on GC)

I'd forgotten how good this game is, it really is a masterpiece in many ways. Cant believe its design basically matches or outclasses Zelda dungeons.

I'd love to know how much Nintendo themselves helped with the level design.

This is the real life bit. The rest are lies.

Flipping Metroid controls. I was wondering why the pointer controls felt off.

Saw a video, turns out you have to change the camera to gyro for it to work properly. Using dual stick controls. So you use both.

That giant Space pirate died quite easily with super missiles.

Is the Wave beam thing useful for anything? The one you use like Super missiles?

It can be useful when dealing with the purple pirates.

So I wiped out some barbarians and their camp last night that were near one of my cities. The barbarians had spearmen, warriors and a scout. Three turns later, I got a Great Person who's speciality is converting barbarians to join your civ. Hrm

I'm seeing strange parallels with the current immigrant problems in our capital.  LOL  sad
