Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileI don't see it as censorship if you get banned for spreading misinformation and lies. Its the consequences of your actions. Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences. Though I agree that others could counter with valid arguments and truth, sometimes those arguments get drowned out by outright lies that spread like wildfire. Misinformation is dangerous when used to sway the public regarding health concerns about Covid or used to incite an insurrection.
Freedom of speech and censorship are legal questions. It would be more harmful to suggest private entities can't moderate their spaces.
But I wanted to say more on this in the context of us, here, specifically. Part of the migration here was the nightmare the was the way other forums were run, and the consequences therein. There has always been a bit of a high-minded idea of letting things flow freely here. Despite all that, there's still the structure for content moderation. There's the ability to delete posts. To ban users. Because bad actors exist and you have to account for that. There are places online where it is a free-for-all, and they're terrible.
If someone came in here and started spamming our boards with the most heinous hate content, my response isn't, "everyone post more!" or "everyone tell them it's bad!". It's that they need to go.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileThe problem with free speech is that it applies to everything, also 'bad' idea's. But isn't that just a matter of perspective?
The problem isn't a lack of free speech, but rather a lack of willingness to listen.
(it's late and I'm on my phone. Will definitely get back to this)
Free speech today in a place like America is cover for rich people's stifling of speech. As a liberal value it has traditionally been that, too.
In this case, one of the world's richest people buying out a platform to change its editorial policies should make that pretty obvious lol.
Not quite.
Problem is that its reputation damaging. I had two of this clients friends as clients before, happy customers and this client, happy customer. She was going to refer me to her cousin and sister but now that some f-ing douche has scammed her and stuck my name on the payment - probably because it was a semi regular charge or relatively high payment - the client is now suspicious of me and probably won't pass on future customers which I need to keep going.
Sorry about that, GG. Hopefully everything works out for the better soon.
PSA: Some good sales going on for Golden Week. Seen a lot of Capcom and Square-Enix games on sale on Switch and Xbox. I would imagine it’s the same for PlayStation as well.
Oh, and nice use of the word tarnation.
Is there a bad way to use tarnation? Maybe it should be used more often?
I learnt about Golden Week for the first time yesterday and since then I've seen it in three more places (including here). Surely it isn't a new invention.

Today is the first time Ive heard of this as well.
At least Sony has been giving it some regard in the past couple years in the west. They've been doing golden week sales on the PSN store for at least a couple weeks. Big Japanese games always get discounts, usually jRPGs.
I've heard that it's a week with multiple public holidays. Two of them seem to have been introduced in 2007, so it can't be that old as a concept. I suspect I've seen it somewhere before but never really thought about it, so it vanished from my mind.

I thought Golden Week had something to do with showering. Boy was I corrected on that right quick.
They are important. You take a nice, warm golden shower so that you may have a golden slumber. You will wake up refreshed and ready for Golden Week.
