I dabbled with a couple of games yesterday evening and ended up firing up Wave Race Blue Storm for the first time in at least 15 years. I loved that game back in the days, the only racer where I ever took interest in time trials to shave off tens of seconds of my best times.
It took me about an hour to even just be able to complete a cup without being disqualified for not ranking high enough. Still a great game though, the wave dynamics add so much strategy to the racing, having to consider on what wave to innitiate your turn. The 3:4 screen ratio also needed some time to sink in again, as it means you need to take some turns based on muscle memory as you will only be able to see if you're lined up correctly after the turn is done, with very little time to adjust once the camera has caught up with you.
Playing this also has me considering going back to that other great GC racer, F-zero GX.
Quick correction to the news: it's the 4th season of Castlevania. I started watching the series again yesterday in preparation. And promptly fell asleep halfway the first episode. How's that for a commendation. Great show though.
2 cases left on the DarkSide Detective and I can say it's a resounding BUY THIS at sale price. The sequel just came out too. At first I thought the game was going to be too short and throwaway but it's proved me wrong and is a very fun game. The game seems to have distilled the elements of what makes adventure games fun. Cut out any unnecessary elements and just rewards you constantly with funny situations or dialogue. The game is like The X-Files x Ghost busters with a detective duo investigating supernatural cases. Despite its low detail pixel art the music, colours, sfx and lighting bring the game vividly to laugh. But the writing is the real draw here, consistently makes you smile or laugh out loud. Many references only our generation will get. Definitely buying the sequel. It's even got a special Christmas case which is very fun (though something of a pain) in that it adopts a few frustrating foibles from other graphic adventures.

Ah, ok. I thought I had missed a season there for a minute. Anyway yeah great show and looking forward to the new season.
Booted up Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings wii because it has Fate of Atlantis as a bonus feature. Omg, so good it has an upscaling option, which enlarges the picture and sharpens. And then if you want you can apply anti aliasing to it lol. Booted up Arkham City wii u, yeah the combat is still.... Ugh. I remember there were a few overlong fight sequences in the game. At least you can activate a boost mode to finish them off faster here. Visuals have aged a bit. Love the alternative costumes.

Very disappointed that their ending it after four seasons. Really these seasons are more like half seasons as it is. They had built up a good test of characters and seemed like they had a lot more they could do with them even after tying up the current stories. I suppose it's an attempt to make a fresh break with Warren Ellis since the article mentions there will be a spin-off of some kind.

Yeah seeing that this is the final season is disappointing. Wonder how much they cram in here. Could get pretty crazy.
