I wouldn't mind getting an Xbox just because I skipped last gen and I'd like to play some Gears of War games.

Gears 5 is not console-buying worthy but it's good gears with some padding.

Still playing Days Gone. I know I'm past the halfway mark, but I couldn't tell you much more than that. I'm pretty much doing every single mission they throw at me. Love this game very much. And I'm in no hurry to end it.

lol. that's great. I battle myself to buy this. deep down inside I know it HAS to be great, but then, I said that about Mass Effect Armageddon and that was a legitimate bomb.

I’ve been playing Yakuza: Like A Dragon and Animal Crossing: New Horizons this weekend. I’m enjoying Like A Dragon immensely. The story telling, characters, and world building is great. The protagonist, Ichiban, is a very affable character. Really dig the combat system in this game as well.

Jealous.

I'm playing Night in the woods.

I remember Tom Bramwell doing a preview of it at EG with the devs and he saw his name was in the game. When he asked them about it it appeared to be a total coincidenceand they said they'd replace the name.

It's still there. At least twice. I wonder if he told them he was cool with it and to leave it in. Or if the dev just didn't'are to do the effort.

Did you listen to me and Tom's take on this game? Glad you are playing.https://gameunder.net/http/gameunderlibsyncom/rss/2020/9/15/game-under-podcast-130

I didn't listen to that part because I knew I was still going to play it.

I'll give it a listen once I've completed the game.  Which, hopefully, won't take that long.  The writing is witty, but my god, is it devoid of fun gameplay.

I had reservations about it as well, but it was available on Playstation Now, so no skin off my back if I didn't like it. And it turns out it's actually one of the most unique open world games I've come across (admittedly I don't play a ton of them). It leans a little on mission repetition to fill out the game, like most games in the genre, but there are still enough unique missions and moments that it's easy to look past.

Maybe the best thing I can say about the game is that I almost never use the fast travel mode to get what I need to go. The wilderness is beautiful and really well designed. And despite being in the middle of nowhere in the Pacific Northwest, there's usually something interesting going on during your travels.

I have days gone ready to go in 4k 60 for PS5, will play soon. I've heard great things.

So I finished astro bot playroom and it's a delightful charming tech demo that has decent variety in platforming. It's not like the VR game that's a proper full platformer, this is more like Nintendoland where there are platforming levels but it's mostly a series of creative ways to use the controller. One level you are in a monkey robot and you have to rock climb by alternating the triggers and moving the controller, you need to do a light grip for some holds. Other you are marble that you control using the touch pad. The haptics are incredible, the best is when it starts raining and Astro takes out an umbrella and you feel the rain drops hitting the controller. Oh and one level you get a chai gun paintball shooter, you feel every ball shoot out and the trigger shakes as the barrel turns. Best part is the game is a PlayStation museum so you get models of every PS console and peripheral, and many models are interactive. It's the kind of attention to detail Nintendo gets praised for, honestly Sony might be raising the game.

Demons souls is stunning. Latria is blowing my mind with the atmosphere and how smooth everything looks. The dream of those CG playable games is now.

Playing Abzu. Is this even a game? It autoplays itself a lot. Feels like watching Fantasia. It was cheap though so can't complain too much.

Warning to those with their minds set on an XS and an internet cap: even if you transfer your data across from an Xbone, the new console will just download everything anew.

I gave up on it after about 20 minutes. It reminded me a lot of Journey. I don't need another Journey in my life.

I completed it. It's a 2hr game? Looks nice but a meh fest imo. Worth it for £2 though. 👍 Lord I need another Endless Ocean.

UNIVERSITY OF OXFORD STUDY FINDS THAT GAMES ARE "GOOD FOR WELL BEING," ANIMAL CROSSING: NEW HORIZONS USED IN Testing
"If you play Animal Crossing for four hours a day, every single day, you're likely to say you feel significantly happier than someone who doesn't. That doesn't mean Animal Crossing by itself makes you happy."

If I had that kind of free time on my hands, I too would be a happier person.

Robio, Tesco UK is lowering switch prices on black friday only, perhaps it'll do the same in the US?

I am now part of the next-gen.

The next-gen in mobile virtual reality!

Quest 2 arrived two days early, Supreme.

So far I only got any hint of nausea in one demo, and it went away if I stopped for a second or two.

Definitely the right decision to go for this over a lower resolution headset (pending what link is like), as the sharpness looks like my 21.5" 1080P monitor, and anything less sharp than that and I start to get eye strain.
