After dying repeatedly in the Mega Man X games I broke out Kingdom Hearts 3 and played some of that this afternoon. It's okay so far, but I kind of regret starting on normal difficulty. I can tell this game gonna be a little on the easy side.

After finishing TLoU2, I decided to go to the original.  However, my controller is having joystick issues.  I put in Uncharted 3 and played a bit but the joy stick makes a stop and go movement.  It plays ok on multiplayer but still makes my character stammer around.  I guess I'll have to purchase a new Dual Shock. Sad

I've got a PS4 controller that's also on the way out. Wireless controllers are certainly convenient, but they are a hell of a lot more for fragile than the old school ones with cords.

Try playing with it plugged in.

I can't complain. It was the one that came with the system about five years ago. I've about on my third pair of joycons in less time. Kids.

I do sometimes.  Do you think resetting , by putting a paper clip in the little hole in the back, will help?

I wish I could use my pro controller on the PS4.  That is one awesome controller.  I'll probably end up with a cheap second hand one.

Definitely try resetting it. When my dead PS3 controllers were dying I seem to remember having to reset them on and off.

The NES controller is probably the toughest controller that I’ve ever used.

Agreed.  I haven't experienced a single malfunctioning analog stick!

So I have a nephew that plays nothing but fortnite, just non stop, hardly plays anything else despite borrowing some of my games and my digital library. Now he recently moved back so I have not been able to "raise him correctly" so I'm fighting a losing battle here. How do I get him to like all games. Fucking GaaS bullshit, ruining our youth.

At that age, a lot of it is, "I play whatever games my friends are playing so we can all play together." My son played Fortnite for about 2 years, and once a couple friends stopped playing it, so did he. He ended up going back to Roadblox, but to that game's credit, you can pretty much create anything in any kind of game you want over there, so it's constantly evolving. He's also become interested in Watchdogs though, so maybe there's hope for him.

We just bought Minecraft last weekend for our son.  Never owned it before, and I don't care for it either.  Only reason we got it is because our son is allowed an hour every saturday to play online with a friend of his.  And every time it's the same story: the other kid has the attention span of a goldfish and never wants to play what our son wants to play, so they end up both playing something else and barely interacting.  Now this kid plays a lot of Minecraft and we figured we'd be forthcoming and get it too, so they can play something together for longer than 10 minutes.

Personally I'd tell the other kid to fuck off if he can't be arsed to play together, but my wife argued against telling him that.

That's one of those things about parenting that no one prepares you for. Your child will interact with another kid you can't stand, either through his own choice or someone else's (a spouse, on a sports team, school clubs, etc). Not much you can do about it other than roll your eyes.

Kind of surprised you guys hadn't picked up Minecraft at this point though. I thought it was a requirement for any household with a child under the age of 10.

We've been pretty proficient in keeping modern society at bay in our house. No minecraft or fortnight, not even YouTube. Can't stand them streamers.

I can see why. I pretty much played Splatoon for a year or something with little else. My nephew has no attention span so he flicks between games every 20 mins. But Luigi's Mansion 3 is the exception. The problem is as the battles get harder he throws the controls to me with 40% life remaining.

So switch joy con are still being price scalped on various shops and platforms. I think I might just buy a cheap 3rd party regular controller. So sick of this shit. Whenever I have seen seen a switch controller I like, the price jumps 40% or it gets sold out. I wanted the Splatoon pro controller, the price rocketed. Joycons price rockets, or sold out. Whatever happened to controller being like £25 each in the past?

Wireless happened.  Then built in batteries.  Gyroscopes, ... accelerometers, ... IR sensors, ...  haptic rumble ...

[videogamer.com]BOTW Animal Crossing island is incredible

...  Yeahhhh.  Whenever I see something like that, it just looks like a bunch of rubbish stacked in such an order, that if someone tells you what it's supposed to be, and you squint so hard you could pinch a grain of salt between your eyelids, you could see the resemblance if you were in an optimistic mood.
