Epic Mickey?
So I picked up The Halo Collection on PC, and just finished Reach.
Even if you buy the game on Steam, you have to be signed in to Xbox Live to play the game. Which is weird, but the cool thing is it actually keeps track of all your Halo achievements from the Xbox. So right off the bat you get like a million achievement popups as soon as you start the game. I was like WTF is going on here...
On my PC, it ran perfectly all the way through the campaign at 1080p with graphics on high, unlocked framerate & the FOV set at 100. I played with an Xbone pad...it just seems right & I've never been a big fan of KB/Mouse. I mean I'll do it if I have to, but that's about it. Feels exactly like it would on the Xbox. No issues at all, other than a few odd glitches that I think were in the 360 game anyway. I also played one multi-player match....got into a game instantly & did pretty well...I forgot how fun Halo MP is. It always had it's own charm which is what made it stand out in the first place. May have to play more.
I feel like this game was the end of an era not just for Bungie, but for MS. IMO this game (which is not even the best in the series) that came out in 2010, just destroys anything MS has funded since then. Yeah there's the newer 343 Halo stuff & the newer Gears stuff, but nothing they've published has this kind of larger than life, epic must play feeling anymore. This was the Xbox era that I was a huge fan of, from 2001 to 2010-ish. I actually liked Xbox first party more than Sony's during this time, because it felt like high quality, epic PC style software, brought to consoles.
But yeah, if you wanna play Halo on PC it's definitely worth a buy.
Yes please.
Can't wait to finally finish the trilogy myself! Looks like the ports are actually good this time, too.
Supreme, why couldn't you get into FH3? I'm wondering if you might like 4. I feel like the same gameplay structure without the seasons wouldn't work nearly so well, and the setting is much less annoying judging by the demo of FH3.
It might be worth checking out with Games Pass if you've got the bandwidth for it. For me it has the potential to be one of the best open-world arcade racers ever, building on everything great in the genre since NFS: Underground to NFS: Burnout, albeit with police chases and whatever the blow everything up mode in Burnout was called being discarded (though the skill building free roam and some of the story missions are nearly as ridiculous). One thing that's so great about it for me is its driving mechanics strike an amazing balance between simcade and arcade: with all assists off, you can still drive like it's 2 fast 2 furious (sideways around corners), you'll just be a little bit slower than if you drive properly (slow in fast out); but that might put you off if you're an arcade racing purist.

Nice, this video came out of nowhere. Developer commentary with gameplay not shown in the trailer. Looks like it's going to be just as killer as RE2r & honestly that multi-player mode looks pretty damn fun. Capcom is on a role.
Yeah, that's still there. However, once you get into the actual game (which takes several hours), it fades into the background; so that might have been the case with 3 as well, and you just didn't make it far enough.
The fact that I can pick up the Switch and play a whole race of that in the time it would take me to boot up the Xbone and start FH3 also isn't helping. The only thing I'm currently playing on Xbone really is Sea of Thieves.
Takes but a few seconds for me to get into it! The wonders of solid state drives.
I need to try Asphalt 9 myself at some point...
You're playing it on PC I take? Yeah, Xbox takes ages to boot up and you can't change out the HDD. I've been thinking of getting GRID whenever it's on sale on the eShop, but for now I'm good with just Asphalt 9. Although, hilariously and ironically for a game that originated on tablets, it has a 75% chance of crashing and a 25% chance of crashing the Switch if you leave it running while the Switch goes in sleep mode.
Yes. For the next few months (or potentially longer if Games Pass remains $5 for PC) my PC is moonlighting as a Xbox One X.
2001: An Xbox Odyssey
Looks like a Blade Runner concept art throw away for a skyscraper, but in a good way. But who on earth is coming up with console names at Microsoft?!
Well that's an odd design. It's going to be 12 Terraflops so it's a beast. Suspend and resume multiple games at once. And my god that hellblade 2 trailer, next gen will blow our minds.
Sekiro wins TGA GOTY?! Booooo.
Also, the series naming reinforces that they're stepping away of the classic generational divide. Still a dumb name though.
The 'X' may imply that the Xbone X will be cross generational as well, which would be a-ok by me.
