Ive mostly been playing Stunt Race FX (Switch). It took me a while but I finally got used to its low frame rate. I'm having quite a bit of fun with it now. Nice nostalgia trip, for sure. I just unlocked the Master Class of tracks which are very challenging.

I also been playing the Crash Bandicoot 1 Remake (PS4). I swear if you miss a ledge or touch an enemy by one pixel, you are dead! Sad

I tried it this morning and the frame rate was just unbearable.  It was like a badly scratched dvd.

You've been spoiled by your fancy modern games with their 30+ frame rates. pffft! 10fps games will put hair on your chest! See?

Gronk is the biggest goofball. He really is the stereotypical dumb jock.

My mother works at a big local wholesale club, and many of the big athletes go there. One day a few years back, Gronk goes in....all dressed up incognito, trying to hide. The GM recognized him so he goes up and says hey Gronk nice to meet you. Would you mind taking a picture? Gronk picks up two giant poland sping water jugs & poses like he's lifting with them. LOL

Gronk is a goofball, and definitely has a frat boy for life syndrome, but I'd argue he's actually one of the smartest guys to ever play the game. He has managed his money incredibly well and got out while he is still extremely healthy without burning any bridges.

Definitely. He's living the way he wants & just has kind of an along for the ride attitude. Good for him. He's a good guy too.

While there are a few NES games that I don’t mind playing again, hello StarTropics, the SNES is easily my favourite console to go back and play many of its games again. It is great to see some of those games on the Switch now through their online service I do very much wish that these were available to purchase separately. I’d rather just pay once for a game and have it available to play anytime instead of needing to subscribe to a service where you need to keep paying.

Anyway I’m really hoping that we see a lot more great SNES games make their way to the service. Most anything from Nintendo, Capcom, Square-Enix, and Konami was godly back then.

I pay to play Splatoon so for me it's like they just dropped 20 games in my lap which is impressive given that they recently sold the SNES Mini. I used to love supertennis so playing it again after all these years it's still such a good game

Yeah I agree. The online is there for Splatoon and Tetris 99 and the rest is an easy way to play games I already own or don;t want to track down.  I've put significant hours into StarTropics on Switch and am looking forward to doing the same with many of the new SNES releases (after I finially figured out how to get them!).

Well here's a thing:

Being the altruistic type I am, I proposed to help out my son's friend, who recently got gifted Splatoon2, but has no Nintendo Online account.  And by 'help out' I mean, 'allow him to mooch off our own family subscription'.  Of course, this being Nintendo, there were hoops withing parallel dimension in hoops.  A quick summary of the adventures of myself, and the boy's father, who knows preciously little of videogaming:

  1. I ask how many accounts they have on their Switch, which is only the one
  2. OK.  easy peasy.  I invite him to join my family
  3. big no go, as he is the admin.  The admin of what you say?  Why, of his own family account that he created to get the free 7 days of Nintendo Online and to which he is now stuck.
  4. The guy checks his online account, and turns out he has 3 members in his family.  He has his own parent account, his son's account, and a dormant evil alter ego of his son's account.
  5. He doesn't know what email account he has added to his kid's account, nor does he know what password might be in place.
  6. We have no clue how to get a child account to leave a family group.
  7. Some more digging around online unveils that child acocunts can't leave family groups.  They can be transferred.  Totally different same thing.
  8. The father follows some, admittedly easy and well explained, steps that boil down to him asking my account to take the child off his hands.
  9. I accepted the request I received in my mail box.  I did not read the fine print, so I might end up having to pay for his college as well.
  10. The kid is now part of our family.
  11. Mario Kart is still saying he has no Nintendo online account.  cool

I'm still befuddled, dare I say flabberghasted as to why his online didn't work.  Here's hoping the servers just needed some time to realign themselves and it'll work later today, because as far as I know, we did everything right and there is no reason it should not work.  Unless I mistakenly adopted his dormant evil alter ego...

So all in all, once you know what to do, it's not that much of a hassle.  As long as you don't go in expecting it to actually work in the end.  yes

You just have to legally adopt him through the family court, then his Nintendo online should work.

Also, the Dreamcast is my favourite console I never owned.

I hated the Dreamcast controller. I enjoyed Crazy Taxi, SF3 and Sonic Adventure, but that damn controller never clicked with me. As a result I did own it, but never spent a lot of time playing it.

Same here. I eventually bought a PS2-to Dreamcast controller adapter. I also hated how annoyingly loud the disk drive was too.

I have a lot of these games on Wii, but now I can play on switch without having to pay again. And there seems to be a concentration here on Super fx chip games which is cool as I haven't played the original starfox, stunt race fx or Pilot wings in ages.

The Dreamcast was a really cool system. It had some great games like Soul Calibur, Power Stone, Marvel Vs Capcom, Resident Evil: Code Veronica, etc. I also got a kick out of those VMU things.

The Dreamcast controller is terrible. Worst part of the system hands down. At least Microsoft remodeled it & got it right with the Duke. If the Dreamcast had the Duke, I would have totally dominated at Quake 3.
