First Splatoon taints Mario Kart and now Xbox. When will this madness end?
Resident Evil HD, 0 and 4 on Nintendo Switch cost £30 each
Resident Evil 4, for example, costs £15.99 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It's almost twice that on Nintendo Switch.
That article about games whitewashing Nazism was disappointing. I would've thought it might have been pertinent to include the franco-anglosphere's love for Hitler and Mussolini until the outbreak of world war II, allowing for a much more nuanced commentary on why games are aesthetically fascistic. Just saying that the Nazis didn't have a monopoly on fascistic imagery is a cop out: most of the "West" has a tremendously strong fascist history, and its own fascistic imagery (which is much more pervasive in games than Nazi iconography is). Plus it didn't mention Killzone, the best fascist imagery since Star Wars. Personally I think it being a social problem in the way described is a bit of a long bow: maybe neo-nazis can take advantage of games as a recruitment tool, but what's not much of a maybe at all is that the American military not just can but does, and it that's through its own brand of (partially fascist) imagery, not by whitewashing the Nazis lol.
And don't get me wrong. I'm not criticising games for being rife with fascist imagery. I'm glad they are, as fascist imagery is pretty powerful. No pun in intended.
Oh, and lastly, just because something uses fascist imagery doesn't mean it is fascist. For instance, Star Wars subverts its fascist imagery in the final confrontation between Luke and Vader, and Killzone 2 is purely satirical: essentially the Dutch version of the article itself. Their example of something that does things a little better than other games, but still is “problematic” I think is actually one of the greatest examples of a purely fascist game: Wolfenstein. The first reboot is pure ubermensch rooting out the subhuman vermin infesting and subjugating society in a valiant, self-sacrificing attempt to restore the natural order of things.
To the article's credit, it's still an interesting conversation starter.
Does it suck or does it blow?
It swallows.
OMG this is hilarious
This Texan woman sat on an iceberg for a photo op, and it broke off and started floating out to sea. The son took photos of her on it and...... as it was drifting away.
After labelling his mother an 'iceberg queen', the man said she had 'lost her kingdom when she drifted out to sea'.
Japan is getting these:
Luckily I just renewed my European insurance and they're sending a technician our way. Here's hoping it will be something that's easily repaired...
Good luck!
I’m about to finish up KH3 this weekend. What about you Xenahorts?
I’ve been playing Red Dead Redemption 2 this weekend. I’ve only been playing the online portion so far though as I kind of wanted to get caught up with everyone else.
Happy 2nd anniversary to the Nintendo Switch.
I restarted Zelda BotW +DLC from the begining on Switch.
Been playing Super Mario Kart (SNES Classic) as well.
