Played some Tetris 99 today. Came in 2nd on my third game. I don't think I'll ever be able to better that so I'm considering the game as beaten.  Nyaa

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Reggie is retiring April 15th. It’s the end of an era and his body will no longer be ready. Sad

The fact that his replacement is Doug Bowser is absolutely hilarious though. LOL

That's such horseshit. The guy gets a promotion because his surname is Bowser.

What happened to all the Mario's who work at Nintendo?

The Mario’s probably did a hell of lot better then any of the Luigi’s.

Well god damn... Reggie's calling it a day. Good on him. We could argue if he actually contributed something other than PR, but he  was a good face for Nintendo and the industry on the whole. He's going to be a tough presence to replace.

Very strange things seem afoot between Microsoft and Nintendo.

I fully expect both Microsoft and Sony to unveil their next gen systems this year and to release them next year.

I’m going to miss Reggie.

Anyone hear about today's fest-off between Richard Branson and President Maduro at the Colombian-Venezuelan border?  Basically Richard Branson is throwing a big party to draw attention to the misery of, and collect cash for, the Venezuelan people.  The Venezuelan regime has closed the border and will be having a 'Hands off Venezuela' festival just on their side, basically to tell Branson and the world to piss off.

In my mind it'll look something like this:

On the Colombian side:

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor splatoon 2 pearl and marina stage

And representing Venezuela:

Afbeeldingsresultaat voor splatoon 2 octavio

Sony missing at e3 this year though? Would be weird.

http://www.jeuxvideo.com/news/10065...cient-des-jeux-xbox-debarquent-sur-switch.htm

For several weeks now, rumours have been growing more and more insistent: what if Nintendo and Xbox were to become real working partners? A question that jeuxvideo.com has been working on for almost two months now, and to which we can now provide answers: yes, Nintendo and Xbox will join forces in the very near future. An astonishing rapprochement that will not be without consequences.

Xbox and Nintendo executives have met regularly, especially in the United States, since both Xbox and Nintendo of America are based in Redmond. Conversations that are not quite finished, but from which several decisions have already emerged. Starting with the upcoming arrival of Xbox games on Nintendo's small system. This has already started since recently, the Japanese manufacturer announced that Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice would land on Switch; but according to our information, it will soon be followed by Cuphead and Ori and the Blind Forest.

But that's not all; because our sources told us that games bigger than Cuphead and Ori would be part of the trip; two of them told us that one of the members of the Halo / Gears of War / Forza golden triangle was potentially involved. We don't know exactly which one, or even in what form it will work, but it's currently part of the discussions between Xbox and Nintendo. Because the possibilities are multiple: porting current games, or Xbox 360 episodes (more in line with the Switch's capabilities), exclusive spin-offs... In addition, we were informed that Rare games could also appear on Switch, this time conditional and without more precision. Of course, we are thinking of Rare Replay, a collection of old Rare games that would completely fit on a Nintendo system. It should be remembered that before a difficult separation, Nintendo and Rare were partners for about ten years and that for many players, the two companies are linked to many fond memories.

Ultimately, hundreds of Xbox games could be played on Switch, through the Xbox Game Pass and xCloud, Xbox's streaming gaming system. According to our information, this solution could be available to players as early as this year.

It should be noted that during our investigations, there was never any mention of Scalebound, which recently resurfaced, to our great surprise. If we don't believe much in porting Hideki Kamiya's game as we last saw it at gamescom 2016, it would not be impossible for some of the game concepts that formed Scalebound to be reused for a brand new license, exclusive to the Switch.

As for whether Nintendo games could land on Xbox systems, the question remains open: our sources preferred not to answer this question; which means that they did not totally deny this possibility. When you remember that last December, Nintendo CEO Shuntaro Furukawa said that in the future Nintendo might turn away from console design, that's something to think about.

Da fuq?

if those rumors about Microsoft turning Xbox more into an app rather than a console, then this makes perfect sense. If nothing else, this is finally going to be how Microsoft can sell their games in Japan. That alone would be a huge windfall for them.

Yeah, I was thinking they wanted to get out of the console business.  Nice to see them with Nintendo.

I think I had heard that they had never you been profitable with any of their consoles, even the 360. If that's true then it makes since. We certainly have a loyal audience and if they can carry that over in a different way without the expense of hardware that's going to mean a lot of money.

Valkyria Chronicles is currently down 50% to €9.99. I recall that Robio has enjoyed these games: what are they like?  Are they closer to something like advance wars or fire emblem, or more down the lines of Xcom?
