I fired up the Wii U this weekend and checked out Monster Hunter 3 Tri for the Wii to see if you could still play online. You cannot. Put in Skyward Sword to see if I could recall where I left off from as I never did finish it. I cannot. I was like around 37 hours in judging from how much time was on my save file. Ended up getting into Chrono Trigger again on the Virtual Console.

I hate when that happens. I've had to start Rune Factory Frontier over like 3 times because of that.

Yeah. I’m debating on just starting a new game or running around for bit to see if I can pick up where I left off.

You should play some MH Tri and give us impressions.  I'm curious to hear what a World-ite would think of pre-World monster hunter.

Ok, so do NOT play MH Tri.  That was not inverse psychology, just so you know.  ...  That last bit was inverse psychology though.

On a completely not related note, my sister and her partner will be travelling through Canada for a full year, starting end of september this year.  After having backpacked through Australia for 6 months last year, they've decided they're already fed up with Belgium and it's time to leave yet again.

Such is the adventurous life of a couple with no kids or mortgage.  In the same spirit, I've gifted them both a year's subscirption to the Canadian Museum Association, so they can go stare at a lot of old and dead things where ever they go.

That's the worst with old school games. At least most newer games kind of point you the right way. But when you stop playing an old school RPG or whatever, they don't tell you shit. So once you forget where you're going it's a mess.

Your statement seems at odds with what actually happened, as Archie was at a loss in arguably 2 not-so-old-school, non-RPG games, after which he started playing a true old school RPG again.

I've been messing around a bit with Rayman Legends on PS4, and I got to tell you this game really takes a hit without having the touchscreen controls available. Wii U and Vita did it much better.

I guess. Those games were designed more like early 2000's games though. Minus the waggle.

Resident evil 2 remake rumors:
Kept in silence for almost three years, Resident Evil 2 remake should soon show itself to believe the sources of "Rely on Horror", a site reputed rather reliable in the matter.
So we learn that:
-Capcom has the means to unveil the game at E3 2018 but nothing is still totally safe. Anyway, with two unknown AAA's planned for this fiscal year, it is most likely that this remake is part of the lot.

-The title will reuse the RE Engine, already operated in Resident Evil 7, with new lighting technology in support.

-Developers target the 1080p/30fps on PS4 and 4k/60FPS on PS4 Pro (Nothing says it is an excluded).

-however, the resolution will be dynamic: Depending on the details of certain parts, the engine may use a slightly lower resolution.

-Just like Resident Evil 7, the title will reuse the technology of photogrammetry to propose sets close to photorealism.

-Claire should wear a different outfit, closer to our time than the 90s style of the original.

-The camera will be way Resident Evil 4 (and the two that followed) but sometimes with a few variables. No info on this detail but maybe depending on the location, the game will temporarily play the fixed camera effect to accentuate the trip.

-Developers from Resident Evil 2 (the original) and Resident Evil 4 have joined the development along the way.

-There will always be two campaigns, but the game will be a little longer than the original by adding some areas.
More than to confirm all this.

Played the crap out of Splatoon's Salmon Run

I have reached a level so far above other players it's ridiculous.

There is this scene in 90s sci fi show Babylon 5 where one of the aliens slices his hand open and lets the blood drip down his hand. He does this to illustrate to the other alien race that these deaths (caused during a period of colonisation) cannot be forgiven. As the blood drips down his hand he repeats "Dead, dead, dead, dead, dead, dead."

Playing Salmon Run that scene just repeats in my head come the results screen as people are dropping like flies around me, and I struggle to survive as all the games bosses turn their attention to me.

At the end I feel like this:
