Vader I was wondering if you might have a faulty left joycon. I ask because I know you bought a pro controller very soon after launch and have presumably been using it all the time? And when the joycon is attached to switch the problem doesn't show up. Only when you use it wirelessly and more so when used loose in the hand and not in the grip. I had some problems during the week guarding on arms where I had no problems the week before. I think sometimes we blame the controls for what we are doing wrong though. For instance when I actually conscious looked down as to what I was actually doing with my hands I was actually trying to guard one handed because my left arm was extended. So I think the problem is that you can't guard with one arm out. So it doesn't register and I was blaming the controls. Here's some arms tips, drift left or right by holding the dash button as mechanica, it also charges your punches and you can attack from an angle. Try hovering as her by holding jump, it charges and also decreases the damage from incoming attacks. Try min min, if you dash backwards it insta charges your attacks and two backflips back can make you cover half the ring distance in a couple seconds. Min min also has an awesome midair kick, jump then dash and it deflects attacks. So you can do that, disabling their attacks and then leaving them wide open. Or try master mummy, use at least one of the massive purple arms and something else on the other arm. Use the big one to block their attacks then follow up quick with the other arm to damage. Back off and guard which recharges your health which baits the other player to try for grabs. Then intercept and slam him. 😊

Just started up with LA Noire again. For all its many flaws this game really was fun. One of my favorites from last gen. Damn shame we won't be seeing the follow up, The Whore of the Orient.

Basically impulse bought a Switch. Got a Mario Kart bundle and Breath of the Wild. There's something about Nintendo production values that are so endearing. The joycon takes some getting used to, though. The joysticks feel awful if trying to navigate a menu, but manage to work reasonably well in-game, though I wonder about any game that needs a little more nuance, or even Zelda if I start having to aim much.

I never had a problem with the joysticks on the Switch so far.  Sure, they're smaller, but I hardly notice during play.  As for precision aiming, I'm betting all games will allow for it with motion sensing, like in BotW.

Finished another half hour on the ARMS testpunch. People are getting better and I'm 50-50 on win loss. Loving it. Hate the 4 player matches, too much chaos. The string attaches you to your partner which is visually messy with 8 arms flying about and 2 strings that look like arms. Also limits your movement. Started learning about the element types. You have colored gloves but you need to charge to actually get the effect. So the game becomes about jumping/dodging/ weaving then throwing a charged shot, disabling them for a moment then attacking again. Gets really strategic. It's good to have a blocker on one arm, wait for them to throw, block them with a charged shot which momentarily disables then attack. Great stuff 😁 One thing I didn't like was that sometimes it feels like the first person to initiate rush mode wins. I also missed tons of rush mode punches so the timing of when to do it is crucial. I had problems against twintelle because I wasn't familiar with her play style. Also I couldn't kick back a single attack as Min min but I love her quick charge backflip. 😊

Test for the left joycon fault. I found the sticks too short at first then quickly got used to them. Now when I go back to the U sticks I'm like, wtf? Too much travel.

I suck at ARMS.  Also, Ninjara can go  fuck himself.

I'm just not a competitive gamer.  If Arms comes with a decent single player mode I might get it, if not I feel I'll be passing on this one.

Another terrorist attack in London. A van mowed down people on London bridge then three men jumped out and started frantically stabbing people. One of them had a fake suicide vest on. Fucking turds.

I don't have a faulty nothing. My arms are not coordinated. I can't sit still with both arms up at the ready and then start punching air and expect it all to go back to a ready position. One arm is out there, one closer to me, I don't punch straight. I'm trying to twist the controllers to move but it's also moving the punches. I use my thumbs not my arms to play video games.

I did try some portable arms with the switch in handheld and that felt better. I hate not playing the game as intended but I don't care for the motion controls in this one.

The game is good probably great if you get into it. Seems like there is more than enough depth to keep players happy. Still my thing is I much rather play a fast based fighter than this, I find this more boring than a MK or tekken where you are doing moves super fast.

Also I feel this would have been a better single player action games. The attacks are unique, different characters and arms powers could have made a game like mega man where you need different powers to defeat some enemies. Imagine how cool a mega man structured action game would be where you fight 8 different bosses with unique powers and arms and go through a level fighting grunts, using powers to naviagte, do some platforming and stuff. It would be amazing. The online versus mode should be just an added mode not the whole game.

Nintendo wants to focus on online well then I won't focus on you.

Pretty sure it's them being so small, so it's getting used to pushing up/down/left/right in straight angles. For running around or controlling Karts, there isn't a problem.

Splatoon is very different from ARMS.  In ARMS you're one on one, every mistake is punished, you have to be on the top of your game all the time.  Splatoon, bieng a team based game, is much more forgiving.  Also, you can play Splatoon in a lot of different ways.  Go at it as a lone wolf, play a supporting role or focus on inking the area's no one ever seems interested in.  In Arms all there is, is hitting things with your fists.

The UK is getting hit hard lately.  My sympathies to all affected, be it personally, or by the terror aspect of the attacks.
