I really liked Dragon Age: Inquisition so Mass Effect: Andromeda being compared to it don't bother me. The reviews for Andromeda are making me sad though. Still getting the game and will play it through my tears.
Yeah, Andromeda seems to have not turned out well at all. What was that about Zelda being so good because it took Nintendo a whole console gen to finish it, Edge? But that aside, I hope the devs will return with avengeance in the sequel. Or isn't this supposed to be part of a trilogy?
I thought that they said Andromeda was the first part of a trilogy but I could be wrong. It seems like it was very rushed. Hopefully a lot of it can be fixed up with some downloads but they'll likely be pretty sizeable. Thankfully much of the groundwork has been laid now with this game so more time polishing things up can be spent on the sequel.
Obviously it doesn't work that way all the time. If it did, Duke Nukem Forever would be the best game ever made. Nintendo took just as long to make Skyward Sword which is nowhere near as good as the new one.
All I can say on Mass Effect is, I'll play it for myself. Bioware is 99% of the time one of my favorite developers out there. IMO they were the BEST developer during the Xbox 360 era....better than Nintendo, better than Capcom, better than Bethesda. So if this game is as average as it is being made out to be as part of their biggest franchise, that's shocking.
From what I've read, the worlds and combat are great but people are complaining about the writing and animations....I couldn't care less about animations as long as the game is good but we'll see. I really haven't read much of anything on it at all up until now because I don't like knowing every detail before I play a game. Is it even being made by the same guys who worked on the first three games, or is it a different team?
One thing I was always worried about with this game was that maybe they were being forced to make another one by EA just to get more money out of the series, when they wanted to just end it. I always thought ME3 was it, so when they said this game was in the works I was both excited and kind of wondering why. It reminded me of Capcom back in the day when they said Onimusha was going to be a trilogy, then they made a forth game and it was nowhere near as good. And that kind of ties in to the writing...where can you take the writing after the trilogy had basically literally ended it all? This is a series that relies on high quality writing too...it's not like Zelda or DOOM where you only need a simple, basic story to get the job done.
So yeah, I'm interested to see for myself.
You want his manly body don't you?
Its going to be one of those games I guess.
Most of the complaints are that dialogue sucks and animations do too.
Yeah I read that too and I think that it quite literally was made by the B team based in Montreal I believe. It sounds like the A team is working either on that new IP or the new Star Wars game.
I'd say I'm a pretty good match for his manly body. Well, save for my bigger bulge perhaps.
"Globally Popular RPG." It will be on the Switch
EA outsourced the next Mass Effect game to them, obviously.
I say it was the best thing to do. I mean seriously, I love the A team, but I wouldn't trust them with making any sort of game.
That's some bold statements to make so early on. Lets see them eclipse the WiiU first. Nintendo's ramping up production to enable that happening in the first year on sale, which will be impressive enough in its own right.
They also said the PS4 was going to outsell the PS2...it's not even close. Sometimes I think Gamestop just like spouting hyperbole to kiss ass because they know their days are numbered.
They're also saying the attach rate is record breaking...
...because they're FORCING people to buy them in bundles now.
