FUCK!!! Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck.
FUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCKKKKKKK!!!!!!
Yes and it's going to be glorious! All will be jealous!
Yes, yes. I'm sure once the game comes out we will all be very jealous. Or "jelly" as the kids are want to say.
So it's starting to come out that MS totally fucked up the development of the game and kamiya was totally stressed out. Bunch of assholes MS. They canceled a bunch of games this gen, they are screwing over developers. I'll post all the news we have in a few.
Okay so the piratey game ISN'T coming out then?
It's rare, I doubt they would fuck that one up.
I linked a video above talking about how MS was meddling in the game, they were so uncompromising that kamiya had to take a month off cause he couldn't handle the stress. Also see many posts on twitter saying people are hearing this is all MSs doing.
PLatinum games has a near perfect track record, working on every system, getting the best performance out of anything. The one time they work with MS, it's a shit show. So who do you think is the one at fault, yeah I'm betting it's MS.
MS owns the IP so it's dead. NIntendo can't save it.
Yeah, not regretting holding out on a Xbone right now.
Thanks for posting the video Vader. I have a feeling the key issue was probably the multiplayer mode. That never seems to be something that Platinum makes a priority (outside of Anarchy Reigns which aside from the music was the only redeeming feature of th game). If I recall, it wasn't featured or even mentioned when the debut trailer was launched. Wouldn't be surprised if that was added at MS's insistance and was ultimately what was creating the bulk of the problems and conflicts.
Yup most likely that. Look at this from gaf:
;">During gamescom 2016 year they showed Scalebound in private showings.
;">They showed off something called "Dragon Link", something that they, as far as I know, haven't shown to the public ever and now possibly never will. Up until that point they only showed fairly basic combat that looked great but more in the vein of Dragon's Dogma and less like Devil May Cry or Bayonetta. That's why many people used to Kamiya's games were pretty disappointed. And then they showed Dragon Link. It's a button you hold and then the camera switched into First Person Mode...and you controlled the dragon. So then you controlled the Dragon from Drew's perspective, which still looks HUGE because the camera doesn't zoom out but goes into first person and you fight against another huge Monster. And then they started comboing. They fluidly switched from Drew to the Dragon to Drew by holding or not holding the Dragon Link button.
;">Think the weapon system of DmC but instead of holding a button to switch to a certain weapon you hold a button to switch to a fucking dragon. So these two characters juggled that huge monkey enemy into the air with all the usual attacks and combos you know from Platinum Games only it was A HUGE GODDAMN DRAGON DOING THE COMBOS. There was a combo counter and a rating and everything. It was their direct answer to the "Where is the Platinum action?" question.
;">It looked fucking great and as far as I'm aware they have never released that footage, just as they never showed the HUGE array of customising options and RPG features.
;">I'm so mad about this cancellation. Goddamnit.
Huh... that sounds pretty fucking cool. I know MS owns the IP, but I wonder if any of the assets could be transferred to another game.
Bound Scale coming soon to switch
No-one in the genpub is paying attention to anything through the end of year. While I agree it is unconventional to launch a product in Q1 and have relatively radio-silence up until the last second it will generate a lot of heat by doing it the way they are, especially if it has a low price point.
Multi-player destroys another game.
It'll generate a lot of attention, if done right. We'll see, but this is Nintendo we're talking about.
Good to see MS in the evil corporation seat again. Sad to see the game go to waste, but I feel almost nostalgic when people start painting a picture of MS as pure corporate evil again. Those were the days.
Now we know better....every corporation is evil. No fair picking on MS all by themselves.
But they are the evilest.
