I just realised, from next year I will be away from a computer screen and tv for many hours, so this thing will actually get a lot of play. Especially for killing time between meetings. There better be a decent battery life, on par with the U high capacity battery.
So no secret sauce? They are pretty careful with the wording there, saying that it's not the "main" unit. Then they say the docks main function is tv output. But it could be doing something to make the tv output video signal a higher resolution.

New theory from gaf, customizable detachable joy cons. So for some games you attach a controller with different buttons and a look. You can get GameCube attachements. And so on.
It has a very nice style to it. Sleek just like the other consoles. This seems to me like an improved Wii U concept....Its a Gamepad with the actual console built into it with an Xbox style pad as well.
Should be interesting to see what they do with it.

Yeah I thought so. Hopefully they do a cheap left hand side Joy-Con (is this really what they're calling them??) with an actual D-pad.
And a glossy black one to match the colour of the main unit would help.

Gonna keep my excitement in check for now.
I sure hope that the Virtual Console on the Wii U directly carries over to the Switch so that all the games one has purchased on there can be immediately playable on the new system.
Unlikely as the dock will also recharge the battery.
Maybe the games will SWITCH over. Or maybe Nintendo will pull the ol' bait and SWITCH.
I am the exact opposite. I have no use for it as a portable so if I get one it will sit in the dock for its entire existence.

I'm thinking $299 for the tablet-only, $399 for the tablet + Dock. I hope those are not the acual prices, though.
My guess would be that a bundle would probably be with the Pro controller, car brace, and perhaps a game. Maybe a larger amount of storage available.
