I only want animal crossing. Everything else can go suck a fat cock and burn.
Why a fat cock?
I was born before the Atari 2600 so I'm an old fart and remember those early days well. My order was Atari 2600, NES, SNES, and Genesis. I passed on the Master System and got a Genesis after the SNES for the odd game that I was interested in such as Castlevania Bloodlines and Contra Hard Corps.
There's not really anything I don't like so far about the Switch. I think it's Nintendo's best looking system, aesthetically, since the N64. And the specs seem good enough, the controllers look comfortable enough with enough buttons to play any game. What's going to really matter at this point is where they're going in terms of online service and account systems. Having your own account with purchases tied to it, a more robust friend system, an achievement system...these are the things that are going to make it a true contender or just a companion (if it has good 3rd-party support). You really need to nail all these things to compete. You can't half ass anything.
Not sure if I'd be grabbing it right away even if I want to though. Just bought a car and have a bunch of other expensive shit to pay for right now so March is going to be tight.
I was born before the invention of the wheel. So wheel, Atari 2600, SMS, Genesis, SNES.
Raven, have you played Rise of the Tomb Raider. You'll love it.
It doesn't seem any different than the enhanced GTAV, Uncharted games and Tomb Raider on PS4. The only difference is Sony will probably have more games than Nintendo. 😀
yes and yes, on PC last January.
I'm guessing switch will be $400 maybe $450 down here in Au? If so I'd be very interested in the launch lineup to guide my decision.
Nintendo owns the handheld market so if it is as successful as their other handhelds it would get tons of software.
SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:
Yes but handheld games usually cater to a completely different crowd. The handheld market may not even exist anymore because most people I see just play on their phones.
I think most people who buy a Switch are going to use it as a typical home console as I would. I seriously can't see people lugging this around with them everywhere.
Some of the shit in that video is hilarious. The guy who can't stop playing Zelda to let his dog go take a shit. The dudes who stop playing basketball to play fake basketball. Lol people don't do stuff like this.
The Switch is the best possible move Nintendo could have made. However, I feel that this could be too little, too late. It's going to ride or die on the launch window games.
One of the site's forefathers.
Play fighting games!
Still can't muster any excitement over Switch. More interested in PSVR at this stage.
All of Nintendo's innovations of the last fifteen years flushed down the toilet and NOTHING forward thinking this time around. Motion controls, touch-screen, 3D gaming, tablet controller. No concept expanded or built upon. If they treat their own concepts like gimmicks and don't support them, why are they surprised when other developers do the same?
This is little more than a glorified PS Vita with detachable joy-condoms which form a controller. And wasn't that Sony's least successful machine?
So long Nintendo and thanks for the memories.

Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu
True, but most 3ds software is smaller budget and quirkier. Would be interested in seeing how a new Bravely Default would look on this thing.
I think 3ds has sold upwards of 50 million. There's a market but it is shrinking. As for the taking the dog for a shit thing, that happens all the time. Everytime I go for a shit I'm using my phone.
In a sense you're correct. If any other company had announced something like this people would be shrugging it off. I myself posted ages ago an existing tablet with attached joy cons. The difference is that Nintendo is the only company that has consistently had success in the portable market so people know they are going to support it pretty well. Also the notion that all their software will be consolidated on one platform means twice as many games.
Then there's the power jump, this thing is vastly more powerful than Vita and should be around 3x more powerful than Wii U. Outside Nvidias new laptop gpus this is the most capable machine of this size thats ever been built. So technically, yeah, it can be used as a tv console too. It's still going to struggle vs normal consoles though.
Wtf does that mean?
All this info comes from Laura Kate Dale, who has proven herself extremely trustworthy with information. She has gone through multiple sources to get this information. Still, it's all rumor until Nintendo confirms. If you hit up the source link, you can see just how Laura got all this info.
