There was also a statistic that was repeated a few times during the campaign, 70 times Britain had voted against something in the EU and 70 times we lost the vote. It's that feeling of ineffectiveness and having no control. The EU wants more and more integration, all Britain wanted was to trade freely and co-operate on security as good friends and neighbours.

SupremeAC said:

Without wanting to go into long debates over the topic, you act as if those problems are exclusive to the UK, while I see all those things happening here too.

And where exactly did I say that?

SupremeAC said:

Not all benefits can be meassured in cold cash and there will always be a social element in which the more wealthy members will help those with weaker economies.

If it was called the European Charity fund than it would be different. For a centralised bureacracy in another country to take money on a regular basis from member states without said countries having any say on it where it was spent is wrong.

Britain has been in austerity since 2008 and we've been living with cuts since then and people have been struggling everyday. Meanwhile hundreds of millions in cash was leaving every week in which the taxpayer had no say about it. If there is one thing that characterises the British psyche it's a sense of fairness. When that is lost, people get irked.

We also have an international development fund in the UK in which our MPs use taxpayer money to benefit overseas poorer countries. We already do that to the tune of hundreds of millions, we give money to African and poor Asian countries to help them. We actually paid more money to help with Syrian refugee camps then any other European country, or America for that matter.  We do our bit, I don't think we neccesarily see other European Union states as more worthy of our taxpayers money than Ethiopia or India.

SupremeAC said:

People these days only care about the here and now, without looking to both the future and the past.  It's a nationalistic and populistic ideal to think that you can just fold back on yourself as a nation and all the problems will go away.  If anything, your governement won't have anyone to put the blame on when some things turn out for the worse, which is so in vogue in the EU these days.

But it is true that if you aren't part of the European Union you wont have to do certain things because you wont be beholdant to EU laws, rules of policies. You see it as folding away back into yourself, most other people here saw it as being masters of our own destiny to take back control and re-affirm UK democracy. Instead of voting in new politicians who can't change certain aspects of our lives because 27 other countries dont agree with you.

I also find it ironic that someone from Belgium the home country of the EUs' headquarters, is coming up with all these reasons as to why Britain voted this way - telling someone who has been living here for nearly 40 years and understands the politics here more intricatly (I also studied British and American politics). It's exactly that kind of disconnect the EU has, between its politicans and the citizens of its various countries.

I think that if there were other EU countries that had the balls to hold a referendum and actually ask what the public want - then there would be other countries that voted out too. There are already fears about Holland, France and Hungary leaving. I should point out that I don't think the disintegration of the EU is a good thing. But what I do think is that Britain leaving is a wake up call and will probably lead to reform of the EU which will benefit every other country in it.

What's more worrying is this sense of spitefulness from certain politicians in the EU who seem to want to punish Britain for leaving so other countries won't have any ideas about leaving either. Is that the way this idealistic and seemingly benevolent European Ideal of a political body wants to act? What does that say about the EU when they are actively saying they will screw you over should you choose to leave?

So the UK's point of view didn't make it through a voting 70 times.  How many times did the school of thought the UK sided with win a vote?  It's all political smoke and mirrors.  You said it yourself, politicians have been moaning about Europe for 4 decades now.  Oh no, we spend £350 million a week on Europe.  That's about €350 a year per capita.  Belgians paid €520 a year per capita in 2013 to Europe.  It's all just propaganda.  According to Europe's own information, all of that money the UK spent, save for 1.2 billion (0.4% of the BNI) went back to the UK in some form or another.

All country's have international development funds.  You put forth all these arguments as to why Europe was so bad for the UK, while you weren't treated worse than anyone else.  The UK just chose not to put up with it anymore.

I'm not going to tell you why the UK voted the way it did, clearly, not being a UK resident I am deemed not worthy of such.  I didn't coin the phrases 'regrexit' or 'Bregret'.  'what is the EU' shot up the UK's most searched for list on google when results started coming in, according to a leading Belgian newspaper.  All I was saying is that people, as always is the case with referendi, voted from their gut, not with their brains.  You may have studied UK politics, but most of those who voted leave have not.  They were unhappy, and they chose to vent their frustrations by voting against.  It's human nature to do so.  It's why mankind has always seen war and struggle.  Because people, deep down, are egoistical and don't care for the long term or the well-being of others.  You claim that saying that half of the voters are idiots is doing them a disservice.  You're probably right, but it is telling that all major cities and places with universities voted 'remain', while the rest of England voted leave.

I don't doubt that many countries would vote to leave if they were given the choice.  That doesn't mean that it would be best for them to do so.  It took 2 world wars before nations realized that they're stronger off united, and now that sentiment has faded.  In the face of further globalisation I still think that we're better off together, even if it means directing funds to the weaker economies.  What kind of chance do we stand against markets like China or India unless we are united?

I don't want to reiterate if people don't remember. If Vader is excited about VR, I don't want to say anything to take away from that. It was an interesting experience, but it's not for me.

It's going to be a long-ass time before VR provides the kind of engagement hardware manufacturers are talking about right now.

I was kind of digging Berserk Musou, but I have to admit the gore is a little off-putting. I don't mind some, but this seems to be a little too much for my taste. And it's not like I really have anything to play it on anyway.

MadWorld is very stylized. This goes in the other direction and is just a little too real looking for my taste.

Still a lot of blood flying everywhere no?

Are you guys familiar with Berserk? It's a long running Manga series which has an anime from the 90s. And 3 newer movies which summarise the opening events of the story - before everything went to shit. And now they are finally making a new anime that shows what happens after everything turns to shit. I'm really looking forward to it. And this new Musou game is the only one that I might consider buying.

Wasn't there a dreamcast game on it, sword of the bersker or something, really good game.

I like it. The Scorpio seems like a pretty significant upgrade and it is going to be 4 years after the Xbox One launch so it's really not that bad.

I'd like to believe, but I'm not sure it's a win win yet.  I'd like to think gaming companies would support all iterations of the PS4 and Xbone, but my gut tells me that my PS4 will be obsolete sooner.
