There was a 4 year gap between Wind Waker and Twilight Princess - a 5 year gap between TP and Skyward Sword - and a 5 year gap to Wii U Zelda.

Typically Nintendo think for a long time about what the next zelda should be, then make a Zelda game, then take a break and think for a long time about what the next game should be, before then starting pre-production, then main production, then think again for ages. This leaves us waiting 4-5 years for every Zelda game.

What I am saying is that the way you currently get Zelda, new artstyle, new concepts, nothing would change from that perspective. You would not get some sanitized unimaginative Zelda games. Simply that instead of having this end of production downtime period, you have a small separate team that is working on concepts and doing planning and pre-production for Zelda 6, when Zelda 5 is being made by the main team. So when Zelda 5 is done and released you can immediately get going on making the next one because all the planning and conceptualising and art style choices have already been done by that team.

Like any other HD game, the grunt work needs to be outsourced to let people concentrate on what they are good at. And I'm not advocating yearly releases or any dumb shit, but waiting 3 years is better than 5 FFS.

Specialisation can easily result in sanitisation. But even if it doesn't, playing the same game with a different art style every 5 years is about as much as I can manage, and usually more than I can if we get more than one Zelda per gen. A Zelda every 3 years would be grating. But I just wouldn't buy it, as I I didn't get Skyward sword, still haven't played Majora's Mask (in full). So it doesn't really bother me...

Almost done with Dark Souls III. Soon I will complete the trilogy.

Seriously I think this is the dumbest move Sony has ever made outside of the $600 PS3. There is ZERO reason to do this....pissing off developers and also the people who already bought your console. This could backfire bigtime and I hope it does.

Looks like an amazing new gameplay mechanic to me. An evolution of Vanquish's sliding mechanic. I wish I could do that in all shooters.

Plus my car is stuck there. So when this asshole returns, it's pretty obvious who did it. I was thinking of shunting him back by reversing into him very gently but then if his front bumper caved in or if his handbrake gave way then the car could roll back and damage someone elses car or property. The one thing I got out of reading the list of Mandates from Sony on the NEO was that every developer was being forced to do a NEO mode. Typically Nintendo lets devs do what they want with their new features, control how they want it, use or choose not to use whatever feature they have and that makes sense. Just because forcing a dev to do something they may not want to just breeds ill will and resentment.

Oh please, it can be anything as simple as just allowing the game to run at stable 1080p60.  How much work can that really be?  Pc games have been doing this for ages.  As far as I'm aware, in this gen, GPU is most often the bottleneck, as devs push for great graphics with little stress being put on the CPU (unless you're that assassins creed game set in paris with 100+NPC's).  So with the upgrade in hardware, the NEO should be able to run anything the PS4 can run in 1080p60 easily.

You'll have certain games that aim high, like how Wipeout aimed for 1080p60 on the PS3.  Most will just get by.
