What's Devil's Third again?

GAF thinks Devils Third looks like trash and should be a $20 downloadable title.
How does that look bad?
They say it looks like an N64 game or a PS2 game.
Devil’s Third Wii U details
Screw it. It looks so ridiculous I still want to play it.
Get Messy in Splatoon's Latest Free Stage, Kelp Dome, Tomorrow
Yay, new stages!
Wait a second, this is just that one mazelike single player level...
So was the other one. I think they are just staggering the release of maps already on the disc so we don't just blow it all out on day one. Gamexplain had a video on it, 2 out of the 3 new maps were already playable in single player.
I think these people forgot what games looked like back then.
Yeah. Although it could pass for a GC/Wii game albeit with a higher resolution.
Wish it was Red Steel 3 with wii-mote plus controls

I thought the exact same thing. The images really remind me of Red Steel for some reason. Although I loved the graphical style of RS2.
There is a little bit of the irreverent "anything goes" kind of attitude a lot of mid-tier console games had in the PS2/Wii which seems all but gone nowadays as publishers will not touch anything which is not guaranteed to sell 5m. Glad no one told Nintendo.

It also looks decidedly GC era in it's choice of settings and camera angle. You just don't see many 3rd person shooters anymore these days.
As for it being decidedly 'mid-tier', I think these kinds of games will gravitate to nintendo consoles, where development is cheaper than on Sony and MS's powerfull consoles.
I don't know. It doesn't seem to have happened and it's kind of too late now. One would have hoped that, but it seems they have either gone the way of the dodo completely OR (when the director has some recognizable pedigree and fan-base) seeking kickstarter backing to aim for PS4/XB1/PC thinking they have a better chance like that.

Bahaha no.
No N64 game ever looked like this come the fuck on.
It also sort of reminds me a little bit of that Wii exclusive DISASTER, which only GG seems to have played in the whole world. (I still have it shrink-wrapped somewhere come to think of it)

Maybe the multiplayer could but that is obviously toned down graphically from the single player.
Gaf is weird sometimes.
