From what I have read, they have ruled out direct ports of Nintendo games and are simply licencing the IPs to Dena to make new mobile games. While Dena works on servers and networks for Nintendos new and existing systems.
Souds reasonable. Still, it'll be tough maintaining the level of quality expected from a Nintendo title, while still being profitable in the mobile space. Unless profitability isn't of a concern, in which case Nintendo views this more as a big advertising campaign to get the mobile generation interested in their IP. That sounds even more reasonable when I come to think about it.
I hope so too...but judging by recent Rare I'll believe it when I see it. Considering Playtonic is actual old school Rareware designers and their game actually looks like a Banjo game, I'm currently more pumped for that.
Ah yes...If I remember right Treyarch were working on 2 or 3 games at once at that point and literally produced Bond in 6 months.
They have clearly one upped Tomb Raider in the hair genre.
I think what's actually just as interesting is seeing how Marvelous is trying to pull themselves to the next level as a publisher. They ended the partnership with Natsume to try and take full ownership of their titles in North America. They tried partnering with Inafune on that pirate game that was intended to be a pretty big series (though that didn't end well). And now they're buying a large catalog of games. That's all signs of a company trying to grow and become a bigger player. Hope they pull it off.
So, this NX announcement is pretty much the source of the Nintendo Fusion rumor from last year. Interested how this will play out, but if doesn't mean merging Nintendo Online Profiles and giving people the ability to carry over purchases over from one system to a new one, I'm not going to be too interested afterall.
There's just no pleasing some people...
I'm actually pretty easy to please. It's definitely got my interest. I am probably the most active 3DS user of anyone on the site currently. Anything that combines the 3DS with the Wii U sounds definitely intriguing, but they ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY need to fix some of their archaic policies...
... like the tying of ID's to specific systems.
Did you transfer your 3DS files to your New3DS? How much of a hassle was it really? I'd get a New3DS and MH4U, were it not for the fact I barely get to game any these days and for the first time ever am amassing a considerable backlog.
Holy fucking donkey dick of a megaton!!!!!! Nintendo goes mobile! Sweet Jesus!
and we get a new online system, wow!
I can't wait for a bunch of cheap top down zeldas, should be fun. Maybe they actually make a Metroid, that would be nice.
A new system too?!!?!?!!! This is insanity
We need an emergency podcast right now!!!!!
So iwata says the NX is for videogame lovers! Who knows what this will be, let the speculation begin! Of course now the fear is zelda gets delayed to this new system.
Are you fucking blind man? Its the Nintendo XBOX!!!
^
& I'll be damned if "Nintendo XBOX" doesn't sound awesome off the tongue.
It's the nintendo X cube get it right edge.
That sounds amazing. *starts jacking off*
