Witcher 3 on consoles "not quite there yet"
Aiming for a stable 30 FPS, probably not 1080p says dev

I still think SH2 is extremely overrated and not that great. So boring.SH1 and 3 are the two best.
DDR4 ram is exorbitantly expensive, and will be until it's standard (which won't be for awhile). If last gen is anything to go by, DDR3 might last you the whole of this generation with superior results compared to consoles if you get enough of it. (DDR2 did this gen; though DDR3 came out a bit later than DDR4 is coming out if I remember correctly.) It's not really a valid comparison, though, given that PS3 had 256mb of ram, and 360 512mbs lol. And were consoles, and not PCs as the PS4 and Xbox One are. Which should make hardware comparisons much easier, actually. But the point is: screw getting fleeced on ddr4 ram.
All right, I was thinking of picking up the Silent Hill collection for PS3. Gaf is talking about how the HD versions are messed up and a patch didn't fix any issues it had. What kind of issues did the hd version have and should I avoid it?
Edit: I see, the graphical " improvements" are laughable.
And in other news I'm playing Secret of Mana 2.
Yay! You're alive!!
Robio's back! This obviously requires some of this:
Yay! Robio is back! I should celebrate somehow. Perhaps I'll get Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2.
Well, I finally ordered my gaming PC. After much consideration and self-debate, I decided on this:
Yeah, it's certainly not a high-end gaming rig by any means, but I'm not a high-end gamer, so I'm certain it'll work very well for my needs. I should have it on Thursday.
Note: If you are wondering why I chose a paltry 4 GB of RAM, it's because every game I looked at that I want to play recommended 4GB RAM. I figure why buy more than I need? If I'm wrong, I can always upgrade later.
Ram is quickly edging up to 6 and 8, but it's easy to upgrade, yeah.
It's gonna kick arse for awhile yet; don't worry about it not being top of the line!
Welcome to the master race.
I liked the last one (the one that came out on Wii and PS2). Silent Hill 2 was too scary for me, but I am stoic enough now to be able to play horror games.
Yay.
I thought your podcast impressions were pretty negative, but maybe I'm misremembering?
Aspro said,
I don't think I've talked about it on Gamunderpodcast, and records indicate no conversation about it at thevgpressroom either.
Seems about on par with my setup. Why no windows 8.1 though? I've had 7 before, but 8 is just as good. It seems as if the windows curse has been broken (the one about every other installment sucking). Is the GPU the boost edition or not? I got the 650ti boost, and the boost editions should be well beyond the regular Titans for only a small extra cost.
From what I read, the HD Collection of Silent Hill 2 & 3 is butchered....choppy frame rate, bad graphics, freezing, audio and control problems.
Apparently, Konami could not find the master code of the game, and had the team doing the HD versions working off of unfinished beta code of the games. As in, code of the games before the finished product. So it has a ton of issues that Team Silent got rid of before they completed the games. So yeah...I would try to find the original PS2 copies and play those.
Isn't that the game so bad they couldn't fix it and had to refund/reward everyone who had the misfortune to buy it?
Disappear again Robio and we'll replace you with Hobo-io, a hobo in a bathtub.
And this is what the original art director of SH2,3 and 4 had to say about this whole deal (Masahiro Ito):
http://silenthill.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:Ccrogers15/WARNING!_HD_COLLECTION_IS_SEVERELY_BROKEN!
GME was right SH Homecoming is really awesome. This is totally classic Silent Hill. Its not weird like SH4 or anything, it is as traditional a SH game as you can get. Yes it is maybe a little bit too combat oriented and the puzzles seem to have been neglected as well but everything else fits the series perfectly.I love exploring creepy towns and abandoned buildings. Combat is improved a bit,I just wish there was less, its almost RE at times.
