Well big congrats to the Wii U for being up 10K.... yeah. Oh well at least it's not the Vita. It's setting a new standard of low that even comparing it to the Saturn wouldn't be appropriate. I can't say I'm surprised though. I was browsing the game section at Target a few days ago, they didn't have it displayed anywhere. Looks like retailers are starting to give up on it. It looks like it's about to get a string of games released for it, but I wonder if it's too late. Oh well, at least it's starting to do well in Japan.
WTF is up with the Upad battery draining when it's shut off. I had it fullly charged last weekend, but now it's completely dead. And I haven't used it at all this week! Does it have to remain plugged in all the time to stay charged? Interesting how none of my other rechargeable devices (Ipod, Kindle Fire, 3DS, Dual Shock 3&4) lose charge within a week of non-use.
Your cat was watching Netflix.
That would be a neat trick since I don't have a Netflix account anymore, and she's not allowed in my bedroom.
I searched google about this. Apparently, the Upad never fully shuts off; it's always sending a signal to the Wii U to see if it's on. That's how the Upad automatically comes on even if you turn on the U console with a different controller.
Yeah this is so stupid. I keep it unplugged cause then its constantly charging killing the battery I assume.
How much can you kill a battery that only lasts 5 hours though? I have an Energizer charge dock for it. It charges the Gamepad and two Wii remotes at the same time. So I just leave them plugged in all the time. I hardly have been using it for the past few months anyway. Fuck...when was the last time? Oh yeah....Super Mario 3D World.
I wished it stayed charged longer. I still need to purchase the better battery.
SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:
I keep my Wii U Gamepad unplugged for that reason but with my PS3 Dual Shock controller I keep it plugged in because I hate having to look for the cable to plug it in so I have it plugged it all the time.
SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:
Consoles bought this generation: PS Vita, WiiU
Consoles which will not be bought this generation: XB One, PS4 or anything else for that matter.
Why have I got to be such a romantic always backing the losers?
It's a good thing I seem to have neither the time nor the inclination to play games lately ... plus in addition to the above I have all the other gaming devices released in the last 10-15 years and I have a back catalogue the size of a mid-sized appartment. So yeah, I'll survive one way or another

I always have two consoles and I'm leaning for the 2nd console to be a PS4.
For some reason I always prefer the one that is doing worse in sales.
5th Gen: I prefered the N64 over the PS1.
6th Gen: I prefered the GCN over the PS2.
7th Gen: I liked both the Wii and the PS3.
SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:
I've generally been much the same, but since my gaming time is but a small fraction of what it once was I really don't want to buy any more hardware this generation. I'm hoping to just ride it out with just Wii U, 3DS and Vita (plus all my old stuff)
Previously:
5th Gen: None at the time as I didn't have my own money but bought an N64 retrospectively and many games - all of which (console included) got stolen before I had time to enjoy them.
6th Gen: Gamecube early on. PS2 second (couple of years later). XB near the close of the generation - this got stolen though along with most games in the same burglary that saw my N64 collection disappear.
7th Gen: Wii day one - played it loads. PS3 soon after SF4 (80GB model) - played it loads. XB360 much later (new model) - hardly played this

If you have a few minutes and want to hate life or at least Sonic the Hedgehog, please watch this video: Sonic and Friends.... dancing... kinda.
Every gen after since PS1 has been Sony for me. Never steered me wrong, best system every gen.
Does anyone know if Sony/Nintendo/MS have announced their E3 schedules (assuming Nintendo does one this year)? Once again it seems I'm going to be on an unintended vacation this year, and part of it is around E3. Just curious if I'm going to get to see the big shows or not.
Nintendo said last year that they aren't going to do an E3 Direct like they did last year so it will be a press conference.
Nintendo always has their Press Conference on Tuesday at 12:00 PM EDT which is 9:00 AM PDT.
We don't know if that is the same yet. Microsoft and Sony didn't announce their Press Conference either.
SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:
Hmm, I may take a vacation during E3 week. I have 3.4 weeks saved up; probably time I used some of it.
I took vacation during E3 last year and it was an utter fucking disappointment. The year before I had surgery scheduled right before it, so I ended up recouperating through it. I will admit, painkillers made that dud of a Nintendo conference a hell of a lot more tolerable. This year the wife, is having surgery the weekend prior so I'll be playing house nurse while she recovers. I figure she'll mainly be out of it, so I'll have a few minutes to watch the conferences. I know Ubisoft and EA have announced theirs.
Good points. I figure either Sony or MS will go on the Monday, and whatever Nintendo did would be on the Tuesday. Still, given what I'll be doing this year, it'll be nice to know as soon as possible.
Yeah, I always expect E3 to be a disappoinment.
I was planning on taking a vacation in June anyway, so it really doesn't matter to me if E3 sucks or not; it'll just give me something else to do that week. If they show gameplay of Tomb Raider 2 and Uncharted 4, I'll be happy.
