Agreed. I just want everyone to know that this is clearly not the past nor future direction of the series, and that with Y5 the Master will regain his throne.

Nope nothing. I hardly remembered the characters and what was going on.

http://www.polygon.com/2012/12/20/3789022/disney-infinity Disney Infinity will be an open-world sandbox game that combines the best of Minecraft creation with the absurdity of Just Cause's over-the-top action moments, all in a child-friendly world populated by iconic Disney and Pixar characters, according to videos and images leaked to Polygon.

Described as a "gaming platform", Disney Infinity will pull from both Disney and Pixar's full library of movies and television shows over time, expanding the core concept of the game by releasing IP-specific playsets packed with new characters, settings, toys and building blocks.

The concept as explained in one of the videos we received, is to reinvent the way video games tell stories by handing off the controls to the players. Disney Infinity — which will run on a multitude of devices including consoles, the iPad and Android phones — will be unveiled in January to a gathering of press in Hollywood. According to the official, though somewhat-light-on-details invitation, the event will feature John Lasseter, chief creative o

FrozenByte applauds Wii U eShop compared to XBLA/PSN

"Technically speaking, the Goblin Menace expansion is not "exclusive" to Wii U as such. It's exclusive as of right now because we haven't had enough resources to look into getting it to XBLA and PSN. The levels in the expansion are quite a bit more demanding than the original campaign, so we're not quite sure if we can squeeze them onto the older consoles properly. We probably could if we did some minor changes to the levels, but that can end up as quite a bit of work... And truth be told we're not very big fans of XBLA nor PSN at the moment, their processes are a bit too heavy to our liking and we also need to go through the XBLA/PSN publisher ATLUS, so it's all a bit more complicated. And frankly there's a big psychological factor as well - We had a very stressful time getting the game onto XBLA and PSN, and we feel like it wasn't really up to us, so we dread having to do that again..."

I did the Capcom survey too. Very interesting how they did that survey. There was a definitely an agenda with it. They were looking for responses for certain games. Sadly Breath of Fire and Strider weren't really ones they were concerned about. But if there's a chance a new Megaman or Ghost and Goblins game comes from this, then it's time well spent.

Oh and not that many people were clamouring for it, but Sonic Racing Transformed is definitely a hell of a racer. Big improvement over the first installment. The real comparison ultimately comes down to Mario Kart. I've finished the first two worlds now and at this point I'd say Sonic is a lot tougher. Everything moves a lot faster, and the AI is much more challenging. The mid-level difficulty is on par with the hardest difficulty level with Mario Kart. I'm kind of cringing when I think about what's going to happen when I go ahead and play on the 3 star difficulty. Overall Kart still has better level design. There's still some hit or miss with this game, but there's some really impressive ones here. There's an After Burner themed level that's absolutely fantastic.

So go get it. Go get and we race!!! WE RACE BIG!!!

Yeah I was definitely disappointed with the lack of Breath of Fire love but I already have BoF 2 on VC and BoF 4 on PSN so it's not too bad. They definitely have to bring out Demon's Crest though. Capcom has such a big library of games that I'd love to see them rerelease that there would be very little that I wouldn't be happy to see.

I may grab that Sonic Transformed racer this weekend. I really enjoyed the first game and this one came out at only $40.

I'd just like one last Breath of Fire. The 5th one, Dragon Quarter or whatever it was called, was a nice attempt at trying something new, but it was terrible. Give it one last shot and end it on a good note.

At $40 it's a no-brainer to me. Much better than most full priced retail games (and only $25 more than Journey and will offer at least 10 times more gameplay).

I haven't been paying close attention to the Wii U debates here, and I don't know if this has been mentioned or not, but Nintendo --WILL NOT-- be throwing a lot of effort into the e-shop during the first 3 months (Launch Window) for one VERY specific reason:

At a system's launch SOFTWARE ATTACH-RATE IS RIDICULOUSLY CRITICAL. One: It's a sure-fire sign of the systems Desirability and Popularity in the eye's of Gamers, the Hardware Manufacturer and Marketers. Two: It is the chief source of PROFIT for the hardware manufacturer and Publishers during the launch period.

You don't want to make your own system LOOK bad by having everyone purchase the system with NO games or ONE game by having a wealth of Digital Choices to Download at the outset.

Oh yeah I would love for them to make another new Breath of Fire game. I too tried to get into Dragon Quarter but ultimately I just gave up on it. Did not like.

Hardware Manufacturers don't think like we do. They would like to think that at this time of year people are going to be getting their first and only console. We see Arkham City, Mass Effect 3, Darksiders 2, Assassin's Creed 3, Black Ops 2 and we think "I have/can get this for PS3/360." While NEW console owners would think: "What games does THIS console have? Mario? I'll get that. Maybe I'll get this Mass Effect 3 game too and maybe Madden." We see a few unique choices, they see 34 brand new games. Ideally, they want to believe a new console owner is going to be dedicated to their new system and the number of games they buy at retail WITH that new system is critical...

...at least, at first...

The attach-rate of games is an OLD industry standard that will probably go away after this generation. First, a console has to prove itsef at retail, but once it does (after the launch window) --ALL-- Console manufacturers will transition towards a Digital Distribution model that will try to entice people into e-shop purchases to cut out the middle man and earn more profit. It happened with the 3DS already and it will happen with the Wii U too. Nintendo just hasn't entirely grasped the new market just yet.

They just don't want to confuse the issue (and the consumers) by offering too many digital games AT FIRST...
