'Freaks' and tweaks: ZombiU's winding path to launch

Black Ops 2 is soooooooooooooooooooooooo fuckin good. It trumps the last one making it easily the best multiplayer game since Perfect Dark on the N64. Fuck is it fun. They have this all new pick 10 system so you can completley customize your loadouts to your playstyle.
Today on Scribblenauts: I was flying around with my Imp wings, carrying my Flame Thrower when I decided it was time to take off my Monkey Suit. I had just Started a Rain Shower by Coaxing out a Shy Shaman with a Boom Box and a Photographer when I came across a woman laying on the ground beside the Flaming wreck of a sunken boat. After using a Fire Extinguisher on the Boat and turning it into a Flying Boat, I realized the woman was DEAD, but wanted to be reunited with her Loved One. I simply made her a "Live Dead Bridesmaid" and she sailed off into the Sunset with the Happy Marketer.
The End.
Thanks for reading, sometimes it feels like I'm staring at blank walls. I remember reading and posting the story about Nintendo buying shares in Gyration back at gamespot years ago. That led to all sorts of crazy speculation on Wii's controller before the October 2005 Iwata unveiling. Fun times. I can't believe that after only 20 minutes Nintendo decided to buy into it. And the restructuring of the board to 6 power players at Nintendo, very interesting.
Kutaragi is a legend closing his eyes during the pitch from start to finish. He may have his detractors but I think he's brilliant - aside from being the father of the PS, he's a comedy legend too.
I liked that one.
Sounds okay, but with IGN I find they are like 0.3 higher than everyone else. In this instance I have seen other sites giving NL and NSMBU an 8.5 and 8.7 respectively.
I bought and played a new game last night - felt really good.
I picked up Pushmo aka Fallbox from the 3DS store my first 3DS download. I felt with a new console coming it was all I could justify in terms of cost.
Damn, Intelligent Systems of Paper Mario, Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, Mario - they know how to make an addictive game. I played for like 3 hours in one day. It's Nintendo quality too, it has all those little touches that signpost it. Lovely catchy music, a happy, bouncy character that waddles in a pleasing way. That clean presentation and quirky style. Really fun game. Not sure it's anywhere close to the unadulterated 9.5 scores it was getting from the press, it feels more like an 8/10 so far.
It's super simple yet complex at the same time i.e it's the best kind of puzzle game. Ridiculously addictive, easy to play, short levels. I'm only at the end of world 2 so far but the levels have either been fairly easy or completely impossible. The best ones are those that present a challenge but then you have that eureka moment and feeling of triumph at the end.
The way you pay for 3DS shop games is a joke. The game was £5.40 but you can't just buy it outright you have to buy either £10 or £20 of credit. So I thought, okay the game is about £5 so get something else like Mighty Switch Force or Shantae... but the games are priced so awkwardly, instead of using your mandatory £10 to get two £5 games they are priced at like £5.20 or £5.40 each so you can't get two and have this spare chump change you can't spend on anything. It was the same on the Wii eshop, I have like 400 points lying around I cannot spend because even NES games are 500 points.
When will this bullshit end?
Cool
I've only got a translation so far.
Funny if it launches with Move as the default controller.

Another preview saying that the Wii U pad screen can look better than your TV screen.
I read ages ago when looking for a decent HDTV for Wii that a smaller screen was better. There was this study that showed that with a smaller screen your eyes can visualise everything more easily and clearly. I had this effect when playing Twilight Princess on a small 14" TV near launch where it looked super sharp - relative to the blurry low res textures on a large TV screen. I eventually worked out that putting your TV in 4:3 mode for Wii 1 worked, my theory was that the screen was smaller so easier for your eyes to visualise the whole picture according to the theory I read. Turns out that Wii has anamorphic widescreen that stretched the image to make it widescreen. So natively 4:3 is where it's at for Wii 1 if you want the best quality.
Anyhow, the smaller screen could make ugly games easier on the eye in off tv play on Wii U. I think it will only benefit 3D games though.

Nice update today GG good stuff! Can't sleep I want my Wii U!
Editorial: Why America's most popular gaming genre likely won't work on Nintendo's new console
Meanwhile, both Microsoft's Xbox and Sony's PlayStation 2 controllers are, if anything, built for the first-person shooter. Dual analog triggers on the rear offer a meager, albeit meaningful, level of precision; pressure sensitivity helps to circumvent the lacking hyper-precision of a mouse/keyboard, offering one trigger to pull up a gun's sights, while the other is used to fire rounds. The importance of those analog triggers cannot be understated, in everything from the annual Call of Duty game to one-off entries like Bulletstorm -- pressure-sensitive triggers really matter when it comes to this genre. Sony and Microsoft clearly understand that, making the rear analog triggers all the more effective with the DualShock 3 and Xbox 360 gamepad.
Nintendo, however, will remain out of the game with the Wii U (at least for now) -- the Wii U tablet controller and the Wii U Pro Controller both feature digital rear triggers. Rather than pressure-sensitive ones with gradation, they're essentially buttons. In the context of Nintendo's biggest first-party games -- Mario, Zelda, etc. -- this likely won't matter. If anything, my time with the Wii U's controllers has been overwhelmingly positive. But when Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 arrives next week, I'll have a chance to test my theory with a modern console shooter: the Wii U controllers are going to keep first-person shooters from gaining any traction on Nintendo's new system.
Perhaps developers will figure out a creative solution employing the Wii U's tablet gamepad in place of analog triggers? Perhaps! Perhaps Nintendo will amend its triggers to appease FPS players like myself? Perhaps! As it stands, however, I'm worried that America's most popular gaming genre may once more be passed over by America's favorite console manufacturer.
Dumb as hell editorial, FPS wont work because.......... Wii U has digital shoulder buttons.
I can understand how that would affect racers, but FPS? How do analog shoulder buttons "circumvent the lacking hyper-precision of a mouse/keyboard " what the? One has nothing to do with the other!
Thanks man.
Those screens are actually poor quality compared to the singler player video in the updates today. Check it.
Rayman looks incredible as ever! I hear a day one demo for Wii U too now!
Seems Futures' mags are going down and spilling PS4 and Nextbox details left right and centre.
Wow, the pad actually has a range of 100 feet with no interference, Polygon went out to a small town with no radio interference to test it, found it works at 50 ft. Nintendo gives a 26 ft range to be conservative because of interference etc. Extenders and repeaters could be used in the future, a third party could release it, the range could be huge if that happened. Polygon has videos in the article too, check it out up top.
Hard to believe I have had Xbox live for 10 years!
