Remember that story we had suggesting that Nintendo had underclocked the CPU because of overheating in the small case? Maybe it's true. Really lame if it's true, just make a larger case and put another fan in it.

Personally I think Nintendo's 3DS experience has somewhat made them pull back on Wii U. They were burnt on having to reduce the price on 3DS and take a loss and they didn't want the same problem with Wii U so they might have scaled things back to cut costs. At E3 they kept saying that we would be suprised by the price and how it would be affordable. They don't want to take a loss but they do not want to have to reduce the price after a few months like with 3DS so their only option is to scale back and make a cheaper console.

Regardless of that, the Wii U has I/O and a DSP chip which handles things the CPU was used for in the 360 for instance so the CPU is more free for other tasks and probably balances fairly well with the rest of the system.
