The strikeforce thing sounds cool, but that's what the main game should be like. Sounds more like a Ghost Recon type thing.

I don't know, every time a new COD comes out it just feels like an expansion pack instead of a new game...only you're being charged $60 as if its a totally new thing. All these new game modes are basically things that should be released in an expansion pack. They could have chopped the COD release list down to Modern Warfare 1 and Black Ops 1...and every multi-player map, single player level, and game mode of every COD since then should have been in an expansion pack. That's my opinion anyway.

Of course they didn't do that because they wouldn't make as much money.

That's the crazy part...I think there are still 3 COD games that are over $40 brand new in stores. The only series I can even compare this to is Madden, but at least that's understandable being a sports game. And last year's model also drops way down in price, unlike COD. COD's multi-player is great fun, I'll give it that. But the campaign is a relic. Mind numbing, brain dead shooting gallery. And Activision are just ripping people off on this series to an insane degree.

You can make the argument that they are taking oxygen out of the room for slightly better FPS games though (arguably Singularity, BloodStorm etc...) and dumbing down the genre, and on that I can agree.  But I still don't begrudge someone for enjoying some COD.

Blame the FPS genre itself. If it wasn't so insular then this wouldn't happen.

My first thought was it wasn't abad of a deal until I saw that it was a 2 year contract. That effectively makes the customer overpay by about $150 over the length of the contract. Thats insane.

Did you miss the headline of the post which said: An interview from Akaoni studios, with a little tidbit about Wii U?

Akaoni Studio is a Wii U developer working on the system now and in contact with japanese devs so it's not some random guy on Neogaf. Only the link was from there. And BTW there are actual developers who post on Neogaf like Dennis Dyack and gaming analysts post on there too. It's the largest and most buzzing game forum on the internet so get over yourself.

Also note that it corroborates the exact same thing Capcom developer Yoshinori Ono said about the Wii U. So it's not just smoke blowing out of someones ass, WTF are you talking about?
