Makes sense really. Consumers already understand the cell-phone subsidy model and it makes the purchase less intimidating on the front end for people new to the scene. Good for MS too, as no-one will expect thier console to last more than 2 years, cause they'll just upgrade with a new contract every two years.
Sucks for gaming, I think (really not sure if more people with a console helps or hurts). But MS has already said that's not the central target audience for the Xbox moving forward -- and already people use their XB's more for non-gaming purposes.

But yeah there's a number of devs posting in there from time to time. CliffyB or David Jaffe among the most prominent. Also a myriad of smaller and upcoming devs.
The only thing I saw about it was in Game Informer issue with Assassin's Creed III on the cover.

I started playing Demon's Souls last night and this game seems awesome! But...what exactly am I supposed to be doing? I'm just going through this huge castle area getting killed and having to run all the way back thru to get my souls...but I don't know what I'm doing or where I am supposed to go?
^ You are playing correctly.
You will die a ton. Once you finish the first are you get access to all four areas that is when you start experimenting with what order you should play the game in, basically if its too hard try another path.

There is a recommended order but I think part of the fun is figuring it out on your own. It is a very strange order mind you, this game is structured differently than most, think of it as old castlevania with each level having sections like 1-2, 1-3. But you dont do the whole level and move on.
