Well thats it I finally hit the gaming wall, I'm in a lull. I don't feel like playing any of the 100s of games I have. I don't feel like finishing the Witcher 2 everything seems dull and boring. I think I need a break.
I know the feeling. I've felt like that for the last five months.
You could try a pure game experience like Saints Row The Third, or EDF or Fifty Cent: Blood on the Sand. Just dumb, straight-up gaming.
Or go back and play some Capcom Classics Collection 2 (or Taito Collection) if you have them.
Take a break Bear it will help.
The Witcher 2 is a very good game but there is something about it that just isnt clicking with me like say Elder Scrolls does. Its more Fable like than TES like and I had assumed it would be more the opposite.
ugh. I've been really looking forward to playing it. But hearing it is more Fable than Elder Scrolls kills it for me.
Well, let's qualify that: It's not as goofy and cartoony as Fable, that's for sure! It has a lot of elements of Elder Scrolls in it with the varying magics and ways to play each situation you are confronted with. There are a ton of quests you can take on as well. There's alchemy and forging equipment too. I LOVE the maturity level of the Witcher compared to Fable...
Someone else would have to confirm this for me, but I've heard the BEST thing about the Witcher lies in its replayability. How you play and respond to the game alters it drastically, apparently. Make a few different choices here and there and the second act of the game can take you in entirely different directions!
I don't quite get the Fable Comparisons... Maybe in the actual way you fight your battles? Maybe in the slight "looseness" of the controls?
Dunno exactly, it borrows elements from a few different games, but it also differs in the fact it doesn't expect a kid to be playing it and is played out (story wise) accordingly.
The comparison is there because the only two Western RPGs that Vader has played are Fable and ES.
Wait, its not as crappy as Fable can be. When I say it is like fable is that it is more a bunch of roads and paths that lead you to the next area. There is no giant open world to explore. Also the combat reminds me a bit of it but you need to plan a bit more. And third person of course.
This is also true.
Woah what is going on, Saturday Night Party in the vgpress.

Good luck.
Taking a break is a good thing Bear. I did it for most oflast autumn and the early part of winter. You can end up saving a bunch of cash too. Of course during that time all I really did was spend money on hookers and blow, so maybe I'm not the best guy to go to on the subject.
*Looks at how many RPGs are sitting on shelf* Yeah not happening Leo.
Kind of sad really isn't it? lol
Maybe THAT should be the game you play next, Aspro...
Bah, I am about to go out... into the world of Witcher 2 oh yeah.
