What's with the wildly divergent review scores for Ninja Gaiden 3 and Kid Icarus? Trolling for clicks?
I keep thinking I will walk into GAME and impulse buy it, but then I go in and of course they aren't stocking the game because of lending woes. They have the nice pre-order box though.![Sad](/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/img/smiley-frown.gif)
Yeah with the original phat DS, stylus play was an issue because of the size of the tiny stylus and the weight of the system. Once the lite came along it was fine. I wonder if they played with the stand or not?
Superficially the only similarity is that its a game where you play as a cherub fighting a medusa - not that I've played the original. It's so totally different and so far apart, to me its a new hardcore Nintendo game. Sure its based on an archaic slice of Nintendo history, but its really soooo freaking old I don't see why it shouldn't be considered as new.
I didn't read most of Ninja Gaiden 3's reviews, but with Kid Icarus the controls were a sticking point for some people. The destructoid review has many other concerns other than controls.
Reviewers actually saying what they really think of a game?
It looks like the 3DS game is a companion game so I'm guessing it will be in the style of the old Castle and World of Illusion games, a 2D platformer.
Yeah baby. That Spanish dude who did the Nintendo ON video was a visionary. Like Da Vinci of the gaming world
I know some of you guys hate the idea of a virtual reality helmet, but I quite like the idea.
Other good stories today:
Terrorists are using Call of Duty to plot terrorist attacks, today's rather barmy Sun cover story has sensationally claimed.
The scare-mongering article, from the paper which famously sported the headline DEATH BY XBOX on its cover last year, claims "conspirators" are using the Activision shooter, along with Halo and Medal of Honor, to discuss their dodgy plans over Xbox Live and PSN.
"Islamic extremists know cops monitor phone calls, emails and online messages. So they are turning to PlayStation and Xbox games to keep their deadly plans secret," it claims.
Even more worrying if you're permanently terrified of terrorist attacks, The Sun claims would-be jihadists are using CoD to train for their attacks (perhaps related to running around a target range as quickly as possible).
"There has even been evidence would-be jihadists treat war games as training tools, a bit like a pilot might use a flight simulator."
More insight on the Call of Duty threat can be found over on The Sun site. Keep an eye open during your Black Ops session this evening... they're out there.

Red Steel 2: Locked a Reloaded
Oh please, take the subtitle from Goldeneye Reloaded and apply it to Red Steel 2. Voila, I am a genius. Who writes this stuff?
I find this so funny, developers working on 3DS launch games didn't even know the system was going to have a 3D screen.
EDGE Quote:
"What happened? For starters, 3DS simply wasn't ready for release. Its digital game store, the eShop, didn't open for business until three months after the system was in players' hands. Worse still, developers working on the system didn't have enough time to prepare properly -those making launch games for the 3DS weren't even aware that stereoscopic 3D was a feature. Julian Gollop, Xcom creator and lead designer of Ubisoft Sofia Studio's 3DS launch game Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars, recalls just how in the dark designers were. "The biggest shock to us was when Nintendo revealed that the upper screen would have stereoscopic 3D, even though we had been using the devkits for a while already"
So, Could be Nintendo hiding key features of the Wi iU from developers?

I think you can safely skip this one Vader looks pretty awful.
What a well written review. Perfectly explains why the game deserved the score it got in Great detail. There is no personal bias ruining the entire review. Very good. The game is Terrible, we all know this.
Over the weekend I was at Gamestop and at the checkout counter the manager asked if i would like to preorder Racoon City. I menetioned that the early reviews looked pretty bad, but he vehemently defended the game in a manner of which most people would defend their mother if you called her a whore. He insisted that the reviewers were playing a reviewer copy and not the final copy he played at a GS Managers convention, and the game was in fact very good. I nodded, and then quietly picked up a PSN card and got the hell out of there.
Isn't today your b-day, Vader?
Happy Birfday!
Oh man that would be awesome if Crystal Dynamics are bringing back Legacy Of Kain....just think of all the possibilities with that story and setting, and those characters with modern technology!!! I've been saying for years how I couldn't believe they haven't tried to bring that series back in this entire generation.
The only thing that worries me is that, while CD has done a great job with the Tomb Raider games, the last few Legacy Of Kain games they DID make were by far the worst in the series, and really average games made tolerable because of the great setting and characters. So can they change that? Do they have the talent NOW to make another great Kain game?
When I think of a modern Kain game, I think of a game in the style of The Witcher...imagine the possibilities for the story (which was always Kain's strong point) and Vampiric Combat in a game like that? The swordplay would be perfect for it, as well as the crazy spells that Kain used to have in Blood Omen.
Lol, what a douche. You are a smart man.
Yes it is, thanks. You stopped sending me swap notes.
Happy birthday D-man.
NGamer has an exclusive on Wii U assasins creed on friday. On monday an NDA on Wii U will lift, a french forum says. It comes from the Gameblog forum where I used to post. Nothing big or really new but it could be interesting : according to a user source it seems some NDA for third party will end next monday (03/26). If it's true we can expect some announcements... The source also confirmed there is some storage capacity with the Wii U, enough to begin with the Eshop even if for bigger users an external storage solution will be needed, "like for the Xbox".
Next Tuesday Warren Spector is unleashing Epic Mickey 2
Happy birthday Vader!
