They don't even allow PICTURES of the Box in Australia?! Damn they ARE strict!!
He's not. He's doing film work now. He and the other lady sold the rights to JAW. If they are smart they'll pay him to have a look at it and say, "I heartily endorse this product/service"
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night or Harmony of Despair, are half-price on XBLA this week.

And the Syndicate Reboot. Keep in mind the two lead guys from Starbreeze (the guys that made the awesome Riddick Games and The Darkness) have left to form their own company (which is now owned by Bethesda).
I wonder if Symphony of the Night would be available for half priced on PSN today...
Well that puts a damper on things. Now I'm not so excited.
Homefront has shipped 2.6 million copies. This follows the publisher's last update in late March, when the company said that 2.4 million had been shipped to retail and an estimated 1 million had been sold. It's not clear how many of the 2.6 million have been sold through to consumers.

So given the marketing is this a flop these days? I guess toward THQ's goal of being taken seriouisly as a COD competitor it was a flop. The campaign mode was 6 hours long, so I'll get it to see for myself when it's cheap -- but does it have any online presence at all?
^Absolutely. Lanning's departure from the gaming business is a real loss. I don't see why he could not have gotten snapped up by one of the bigger developers, but given how they ran Oddworld, he probably prefers to be independent than have any of his creative choices questioned.
uDraw Tablets Coming to PS360 This year
I think Nintendo really dropped the ball by not throwing support towards the uDraw tablet. It's a great little device. Much more applicable to gaming than the Balance Board ever was. Mario Paint just seemed like a "duh" for it. It did near 2 million in sales if I recall, and if Nintendo put any kind of muscle behind it I really think it could have helped give the Wii an extra leg to finish out the year.
Oh well, its a win for the HD systems. Hopefully we'll see more come out for it.
Did it have any retail presence in the States? I honestly can say I didn't realize it had launched, I thought it was still TBA.
I never heard any of the podcasts (EDIT: or gaming magazines) talk about it etc... maybe it was considered a "child's toy" and not worthy of enthusiast press attention?
In any case, yeah Nintendo could have helped out THQ to promote it, it would have given a reason for the unwashed masses to pull out their Wii again and maybe even consider a second or third new game while they are at the store.
It had a decent presence. I don't recall seeing many displays for it, but I usually had good shelf positioning, when it wasn't sold out. It was a very in demand "toy". Amazon had trouble keeping it in stock during the holiday season. It's trailed off now and it isn't hard to find so it didn't do Balance Board level sales, but it was very respectable for a $60 game/app bundle. I don't know how the other uDraw games did, though I don't think they did badly. In fact I think Pictionary for it did very well.
But yes I think ultimately it was written off as a child's toy since at its core it's not real different than a lot of plug-in children's coloring games for the TV. Or something that's just used for parties (i.e. Pictionary). Pity because I think it really could have been the best app from a gamer's perspective that we would have had this gen. Still I suppose it's not over for it just yet.
So I just read Goldeneye on Wii sold over a million worldwide? Glad to hear it. Was a really solid game.
Heavy Rain is interesting. I honestly had no clue what to expect. The controls are not that great but the story has pulled me in. I can definitely see this as a love it/hate it sort of game. So far I'm loving it because I need a good mystery game. It kind of gives me an Alan Wake vibe with the creepiness of it all so far.
Now 3D Dot Game Heroes is exactly what I was expecting and that's why I love it! Zelda 1 all the way. I'm alternating between the two games at the moment. I love that I can finally play a game without waiting till 9 pm.
Oh man... I just watched Thor. Sad to say, this movie sucked. I'm going to post a spoiler filled review later tomorrow I think for those who are interested.
I'm not surprised at all, Thor looked like a Shampoo model not a super hero from the commercials I have seen. Stupid Hollywood thinks because Batman and the first Spiderman man movie did well, they can over milk it like everything else they do. Getting a good movie out of Hollywood is more unlikely than the notion of super powers. I'm getting sick of crap movies, I don't go anymore to the theater or rarely. The huge push for 3D is annoying also because it takes more away than it adds at this point. Stop trying to have the next big thing and get back to what makes movies great, screenplay, acting, directing. Special effects come after all of that not first.
I love crappy movies like this so I should like it.
I'd be interested, because I actually quite liked it.
Then again, I don't know much about the character and mythos of Thor, so that doesn't help my case.
