I'm not sure you can really say that using an established cliche is copying someone else using the same cliche.
The art does appear to be traced, but my point was that art is from Pandora's Tower, not The Last Story, and has nothing to do with Sakaguchi. It's also not a JRPG style game so any comparison beyond the face art being traced (the final character design still differs anyway) is just dumb. Kotaku dumb.

I'm just further expanding on their stupidity. Traced or not, the original art is still a well established cliche so I don't really see how it bears mentioning.
Okay I recall all of that. When all that was announced there was still some speculation that a new character was still waiting in the wings. Guess not.

But you talk like proper fish animation is not possible on a system with higher specs. Or at least that's what I got out of your comment, I apologize in advance if I misunderstood. If Aquanauts has shit animation and stiff models that's the developer's fault, not because of the hardware.

No I don't expect every Nintendo game to be this grand scale game, that's not what I'm expecting. But I do think better hardware would benefit all software, obviously some games more than others but it would be a benefit to all even if in very small ways. I personally don't care what art style Zelda uses, in fact I like the style of the new game. But obviously it would look BETTER on a Wii60 regardless, and it would also take advantage of my digital sound setup as well. As far as the epic scale of their games, no I don't think that would change much because Zelda and Metroid are already epic, but with better hardware you need more storage space to keep doing those epic games because it consumes so much memory so hopefully that's what this new console will have.
I don't agree with you that Nintendo will be playing catch up in the graphics and tech department because they haven't had an HD console until now. Nintendo is one of the most talented companies out there, I'm sure they can figure it out. Moreover, they've likely been building HD game demo's for ages now on prototype hardware. Hell Matt C. from IGN said back when Wii was unvieled that they had two different consoles; the Wii we have now, and one that was comparable to 360 in power, which is likely what this new machine is based on. They went with the Wii at the time because it wasn't a big money risk and their console popularity was waning.
Some of you guys are just boggling my mind because it seems like you think a better console is a bad thing. Nintendo having a modern tech console was never a bad thing in the past, I don't see why it suddenly would be now. And their software always improved with it.
Exactly what I'm saying.
Horrible.
Has a port of MGS4 been confirmed?
More Shin'en goodness.
Nannoassault shmup for 3DS.
Port of MGS4? Lol. Absolutely nothing is confirmed, including its existence. GG never said better hardware won't benefit Nintendo games. Just that it won't necessarily mean a realistic gritty vaseline powered Zelda since that's a design decision they could have gone with on Wii, like they sort of did on GC, yet didn't.

Nintendo Life teases Wii HD details, discredits Project Café?
Nintendo Life is teasing Wii HD details from “a trusted source,” but are remaining tight-lipped on the specifics for the moment. They do offer some advice though:
Beyond that, there’s a few tweets that are difficult to distinguish whether or not they’re simply opinions or hints at what may be revealed in the coming weeks. For instance, one tweet seems to discredit the Project Café rumors:
They also claim a touchscreen on the controller “doesn’t make sense,” explaining:
Finally, they say the Wii HD “should be very powerful,” which echoes previous rumors, although sounds the most speculative of the bunch. Let’s hope they let slip what they know before April 26th rolls around so we can indulge in a little extra speculation.
Update: Nintendo Life has continued the teasing, saying the details they know about the Wii HD are “significant enough that we can’t reveal what they are,” so we probably won’t end up getting any specifics from them.
Update #2: Maybe I spoke too soon. A reader of this blog got Nintendo Life to share that the Wii HD will be “a combination of everything you would expect from Nintendo and yet surprising at the same time,” implying in a later tweet that the system will have innovative hardware, innovative software and raw power.
Screw rumours. If you know, tell. If you don't want to tell (ie, you don't know), stop boasting that you know. How do I know even *you* are not being played by this "source" of yours if you don't provide any information?!
